Everything from the atmosphere, the enviroment building, the costumes and even the choice of actors was simply nailed better. I like the house from the movie too. One of my favorite parts of the movie is Aunt Josephine's house. The house was the exact opposite of her character; scared of almost everything but lived on the edge of a cliff.
@MechanicalFiend3 жыл бұрын
Definitely, the design from the Netflix series was way closer to the book's description, but the one in the movie was just so beautiful. Oh absolutely, I love how utterly nonsensical her character is- it's super extreme, but weirdly part of me also relates in small ways hahaha!
@AwakeningWings3 жыл бұрын
@@MechanicalFiend I agree. I think they both have great designs, but the one from the movie is the one I liked more. Being that high up in a house is scary, how was she not terrified. Yeah and the fact that she corrected everyones grammer lol Some parts of her I can relate to as well. She picked up most of those characteristics from her husband Ike; they shared a lot of their personalities.

As someone who adores the Netflix series more than the movie... yeah the movie had much better set design and a stronger aesthetic. 100% agree. There's a reason I remember the designs and music from the film so well that I sometimes misremember those songs and sets as part of the Netflix series.

As someone who will get right up on a miniature to stare into the windows, Seeing you decorate the inside soothes my soul. Yes it may be time consuming and seem useless, But it truly feels as though you took the house from the film and shrunk it down. I half exspected to see the children gazing out the window back at me. The truest definition of a miniature. Bravo!
