I’m assuming you’re talking the icing on top of the cake? If so, usually people use liquid clay and some use paint, chalk pastels, mica powders, or clay chopped up and mixed in to the desired consistency. I usually use chalk pastels and mica powders. But if you want to have the look of something like syrup like for pancakes, you would want to use a transparent liquid clay and of course, be careful with using too much colorant because then it will be opaque. If you decide to try/do the syrup look double check because I’m not 100% sure of what most use to color it. I made some French toast” and if I recall correctly, I use powder that is used and coloring icing for real cakes. There’s another KZbinr who does miniatures in polymer clay and has great tutorials!!! I’ll come back and share her name. I’m blanking right now. I don’t know what happened with her because it’s been a least of couple of years since she posted. I learned a lot from her too.

Ok there are 3 that are amazing! The one I was speaking of is Heather Wells but there is also Strawberry Puffcake and Rina Vellichor. All three are incredible too!!!

@@akanshachoudhury4225 you are so very welcome! Over the years I have been interested in a lot of different things, but this is the one that I enjoy the most! I actually used to do cake decorating. So some of the stuff that I had for that is useful in polymer clay. And some of my scrapbooking stuff too!!!

PLEASE READ!!! I NEED HELP!!!! So I’m looking for some advice. I can’t believe I’m going to put this on here because it really makes me look like a moron. Until recently I babysat my three year old grandson and sometimes I would bring some of my clay and tools and stuff over there so I could do that while watching him and also have him create with me. Well, of course, until the last few weeks it was hot and sometimes it sat in the car. I’m not quite sure why I didn’t think this through but my crazy self wasn’t thinking that a hot car was probably not the best place for polymer clay so a lot of it is now hard. I started to throw it away and then decided to check and found out that there is a way to save it. But I wanted to ask anybody who may read this the best way of doing that and is it really worth the time and effort? I have at least 30 2oz packs that are rockhard. Ugh 🤦♀️ as we all know, the stuff isn’t terribly cheap. I am so mad at myself, but I did learn my lesson lol EDIT most of it is Sculpey (all different kinds like Premo and III.) and some Cernit

Hello, I'm really sorry that you had this situation 🥹 I'll give you some advice, you can try. Although I don't use Cernit clay now, they have an excellent product in their line - Cernit Glue. It's like liquid clay, but it's very liquid. Use some small glass container (I use a candlestick), pour some Cernit Glue there, crumble your hard clay and pour Cernit Glue on top. Leave for a day or two. Cernit Glue softens clay very well. But don't use a lot, because if your clay is completely spoiled, then Cernit Glue will be spoiled too. Try a little. There are also special products for softening clay. That's what they're called. I also mix very hard clay with very soft clay of the same color.

After a day or two has passed, try to stir the mixture, if the mixture begins to change color to match the color of your clay, then the clay has not completely disappeared. Stir until you get a homogeneous mass. Then add more hard clay there little by little. You can leave it the same, or mix it right away. This is a long and tedious process.

@@sweetminidollhouse I was wondering if it would even be worth messing with it or just buying replacement clay. I just know there’s probably at least $100 worth of it there I do not know where my head was. Especially as hot as it gets here in Kansas. Some of those days probably 90+ degrees and we all know how hot a car can get!!!! 🤦♀️ fortunately, I had only thrown a big chunk of white clay away when I thought you know what let’s see if there’s something I can do to fix this. I saw something on the Internet about putting it into a blender with some baby oil or something like that. Of course a little bit at a time. Always better to have to add than try to take away! I might give this a try and see if it’s worth it. Thank you so so so much for responding. I appreciate the help and thank you for your wonderful videos! Somebody I know on Facebook who’s here, but is originally from the Ukraine is a very talented nail artist and also does egg decorating. I’m sure there is a better term for it than that. I was telling her that every woman that I have seen that is from the Ukraine is so beautiful. And I told her about you. So I sent her one of your videos it was the one of you doing the turkey. All of your creations are so cute and so much detail and you make it look so incredibly easy, but that particular one just blew my mind! It’s almost like you can smell it through the phone! 😂🦃🍗 her name is Svitlana, too!!!!I’ve never met her in person yet, but she was married to one of my ex-husband, fellow police officer friends/coworkers. Has even had her work in a magazine and has quite a few eggs on display somewhere here. I need to check them out. The detail on them is unbelievable! She is extremely proud of her home country!!!
