Very accurate observation! How only by changing the frequency of wavemaker can produce waves with such differing lengths is something hydrodynamics can not explain.

Ive always thought these things need some sort of pressure relief system which simulates the dissipation thats seen in nature, because we're on a globe. You can see the hydraulic pressure wave returning to the crest and limiting its ability to break

I can see the wave curl near the end. Nice! It would also be nice if the paddle was under the water to demonstrate an earthquake's affect upon the water, and how the earthquake, or the shifting of a tectonic plate, would lift water.
