This is a real story that happened to two guys. They went on vacation to a lake and wanted a good rest from the bustle of the city.
There were snags sticking out of the lake, but they had no idea what they were pouring into the lake for many years. Various chemical waste has turned a small beetle into a huge monster that feeds on flesh.

Anycubic Photon Ultra - the first DLP printer, which is a new printing technology, that uses a projector and a surface light source to deliver light more evenly to resin compared to LCD printers.

You start small. You try out techniques, find out what you're comfortable with, and bit by bit, build up your skill and experience. Always start small. A single critter on a wood log, a pre-printed figure below a tree, ... There's plenty of cheap materials that you can use to create your own flocking etc if you don't want to invest too much into the hobby, and super rewarding results you can get with them. Cork boards make for excellent pebbles and rocks, for example, and great flocking when grind to smaller pieces. Oregano makes for great leaves. PVA glue is one of the must haves and is available everywhere. Start slow, start small, and be kind to yourself. Always keep an open mind, and just go for it! :)

If you take a hard stance on prioritizing skill when it comes to art (which is absolutely fine) you should take my viewpoint into consideration; Treat any technology that makes creation easier like a Photoshop Plugin. Plug-ins are a great tool, but should only be used to save time. If you can do what the plug-in can, then I feel plug-ins absolutely don't reduce the amount of skill it takes to create. This mindset scales very well to many things. As such... We've all seen Minibrick's has the technical skill to do clay/foil/wires - 3D printing just saves time.
@slicemup9
@slicemup9 2 жыл бұрын
@@cyciumx They are simply different skills. Its like trying to say airbrushing isnt as skillful as hand painting a miniature. Learning how to create a detailed and interesting model on a computer is no different than learning how to do the same with clay, just different mediums.

Sure, it's 3D printed, but it's clearly shown that effort is still put into the actual design of the creature. It's a bit like a Traditional vs Digital art comparison. The 3D printer saves a bit of time in theory, but it's just another medium with effort still put into it.

I think this has to be one of my favourite dioramas you've done

The children bounded around the campsite, happily enjoying their time on their trip. A cool breeze drifted through the air, rustling leaves and blowing fresh sprays of pond water onto the camper's faces. Lily pads and duckweed bobbed in the water casually. One of the boys carelessly ventured to the swamp's edge, and saw a branch jutting out of the soft surface of the lake. *and they thought it was drift wood*

Precisely what I was thinking! When I was a kid, I went swimming in a lake in Spain, and I felt something touch my leg. Didn't think anything of it until I saw a DETACHED EYEBALL float by. Apparently, it was sheep slaughtering season and they would dump the unused parts in the lake. I was 8 or 9 at the time. I'm now 43, and to this day, I do NOT swim in water that I cannot see to the bottom of.
