Great video, I absolutely love Mini Disc I have over 300 recorded MDs from CDs I used to rent from my local library I originally bought from Richer Sounds a Sony JBD 920 hifi deck which still works fine so very recently I bought a Sony JBD 930 ( UK tuned ) edition for £279 from eBay in mint condition and fully serviced type R hifi deck to use it with my new Marantz hifi system I also bought great quality rca phono leads connectors & the sound I’m getting with this Sony MD deck is absolutely brilliant so at the moment I’m recovering my vinyl records on to my new Sony MD recorder as I managed to buy 10 Sony brand new blank Mini Discs for 28 including delivery so a great result I will never give up the MD format is just to good to get rid of it, anyway thanks & peace ✌️

Still have all my MD recorders. I have 3 Sharp portable MD recorders, the MD-MS701, MD-MS702 & MD-MS722, a Sony NetMD with a docking case MZ M10 and all the gum batteries died years ago so I use either the power supply or a screw on AA batt power supply. I have 3 Sony & 1 Denon hiFi units. If I am perfectly honest I have so much competing electronics like synths. laptops, cameras, portable sound recorders, Tape Decks that I seldom have the time to use them. Nice walk down memory lane Jim.

Thanks its fascinating to hear what you have in terms of MD. I am still looking for a foot pedal for my Tascam.

Such an agreeable format for me when I was introduced to it in the late 90's. Fantastic on the daily commute into London. Nice video!

Thanks for that. I see used MD's on Ebay but they generally want silly money. I stocked up on them and occasionally find brand new ones on clearance.

Always recorded comedy and drama of radio first on cassette then minidisk then MP3 to CDR but just started going back to MD so easy to use and edit and doesn't die like a pc losing your files. Now record on Freeview HDD recorder and copy optically to MD as dab radio bit rate so low and mono in many cases. When first had dab could timer record onto MD all programs missed as at work no BBC sounds in those days

I agree with you a format that should have lasted a lot longer. I am just glad that I had the foresight to buy up a loads of new discs when the price crashed. Now they are quite expensive to buy even used.

@@jimwood1968CDcollectorCAVE With us, it's the exact opposite with minidisc media. They can be bought for humorous prices of 2-6€. Cassettes are different price High End.10x more. And I saw it for 120€.And I can see well.😁 I never use reading glasses.😂. Today I have the opportunity to order an onkyo md-2521 in collector condition. The best is the price - less than two overpriced audio cassettes. So I won't hesitate for even 5 seconds and will send the order in the evening. I have had an amplifier from this brand for more than 25 years and a CD player for 10 years. MD 2521 can stand in a row with its two friends. I have only one problem. I don't know how many kilos of minidisk media I should order.😋 For a start, maybe 2kg could be enough. I can have it all at home on Monday. I am very excited. I will have a new toy. After all, boys need new toys. I've always wanted the minidisc format and I still like it.

I had a sharp MD recorder, which I bought in curry's for £80 pounds ..I lost it sadly but still have the disks and some blanks still in wrappers 😂 Maybe in a revival I might invest in a new system which I imagine would be something special.
