Random Sidenote From A Complete Stranger: Katanas throughout the ages have had different weights and weight distributions, and as a result there are many different schools of swordcraft to accommodate specific availability. While there is a general outline for how to use a katana, significant differences in katanas ("heavy cleaver" vs "balanced and whippy", if you will) may require an altering of applied general knowledge.

They may look like the katan but the different styles have different names. The names of the three swords samurai used were daito (daw/ee/toe), shoto, and wakizashi (waw/kee/zaw/shee). The tanto (tawntoe) was also carried.

I for me, I have left over of a broken fishing pole. I think that would be a good start to work on the forms, plus you can kind of do tricks that you see in anime with out getting hurt, and it’s light. But it think it’s would be a good start to build some muscle memory. And then go up to a training sword which is heavier to work the muscle. Just so you feel like you at least know what your doing and your comfortable with moving your arms and stuff.

1:00 This part is just a personal thing for me but this would be the other way around for me, I find it very awkward to use a sword with my Right hand in the control but I don't find it awkward to control the Katana with my Left hand. If I did get a katana somehow, I would much more like it if the Menuki was placed reversed

Incorrect on one point. The correct sound when a cut angle is correct is NOT the whooshing sound you had but a high-pitched whistle. A whoosh means the side of the sword is trying to cut the air like a paddle through water.

You can, but what's the point? Titanium is difficult to harden. The durability of the cutting edge of a titanium blade will be at the level of a cheap kitchen knife. Additionally, a pure titanium blade will not cut, it will only glide. This is due to the fact that carbides are not formed in titanium during hardening. This means that the blade will not have a microsaw made of carbides, which give any knife its cutting properties.
