We did a huge declutter before Christmas too. My mom buys them so much that I don’t do more than stockings for them! My daughter is so sentimental, and my goal is to teach my kids that donating is a regular thing to do, because for generations my family has been keeping things “just in case” and while that has a place, it’s not for everything. I’m going to be working on it myself too, but I have huge hope that normalizing it for my kids will stop this generational struggle that my family has going on on both sides. Now that we are 99% sure we are done with 4 kids, it’s so nice to be able to truly give away baby clothes and baby gear and baby toys, keeping only the very most sentimental ones, and a couple for when we have guests. I need to do the same with books!

I love you & your videos to pieces!! I enjoyed your tidbits, but am especially motivated by seeing other purge, organize, etc. - Hopefully we'll see more of that in upcoming videos. And I absolutely agree about purging without the kids!! :) Before Christmas we have my daughter donate unused & unwanted items, but for a big declutter I am much more successful if I do it alone.

Ah! The struggle! But to be honest, I’ve kept my kids’ (7 & 4) toys pretty minimal since they were babies. I’m not overwhelmed. Santa gets 2 then 2 toys each, a book each, and 2 STEM toys that have them learning and being creative by building and creating solutions. I also ask their aunt to only get them 1 toy each. Then maybe a piece of clothing or a book. But even with that, they tend to leave them everywhere 😒

I make my kids 11,8,4 to help me declutter their rooms. They now have started to ask if they can declutter toys they don't like anymore its great. Keep it up enjoying these vedios.

Oh geez.... the toy/books purge is every 6 months at our house. 5 kids with birthdays and Christmas...it adds up fast. It's going to be time to do this again soon. I dread it.

I love declutters and donations !!! I taught my son how to donate and give to the less fortunate. Also , I wanted my daughter to love dolls like I did but sadly she isn’t big on them . Instead she loves legos, magnetic toys, tinker toys and anything she has to put together or tinker with . She gets that from her day who is a mechanic . So , the dolls will go to someone who can love them . Another thing that makes it difficult for me is thinking , what if . What if at 5 she will like dolls then should I keep them and just put away ? The toy struggle is real 😂😂

For your daughters toys, you could have some of the new ones be special toys that she just gets to play with in the car or trips like shopping or doctor visits. Things she doesn’t see regularly may keep her more distracted when you need her to be.

Though we don't have little ones. We still have been Decluttering. We also are starting to be mindful of what we bring in our New Home. My theory, does it have a purpose. Or am I just keeping it. Our development has a garage sale in early Spring. So I'm keeping my goods to sell. Love your channel.

For me, I just throw away things behind my mom & dads back. EXAMPLES............. 10/27/2016: I threw away the 1st half of my Hotwheels track set 11/09/2016: I threw away the 2nd half of my Hotwheels track set 08/26/2018: I threw away ALL 5 of my sister's frisbees. 10/19/2018: I threw away my Hotwheels Ultimate Garage track set 04/12/2019: I threw away ALL of my Legos in the garbage AND THEY(my mom, dad & sister) STILL HAVEN'T FOUND OUT
