I never thought of it this way. Minimalism is simply another off-shooting branch of materialism, we're still putting value in our things. Once we take value out of these things, that's when you've truly attained satisfaction in life. Not because you've got only a few things or a lot of things, but because you've seen the temporary existence everything has around you, including yourself!
