Alex & my partner are definitely cut from the same cloth haha. My partner seems to love holding onto random pieces of crap, OMG. We have a plastic box filled with bike & car bits; another with computer bits; one filled with cables; TWO WHOLE FREAKING boxes of lightbulbs that somebody else has palmed off on him. Seriously. We are good for lightbulbs for the next 25 years it seems. It drives me up the wall. I recently did another sweep of my things and managed to fill a box to take to the charity shop even though I was already pretty minimal it feels good to keep on top of things. I really enjoy doing a sweep at the end of the summer so I can reevaluate what got used during Spring & Summer and donate the rest. Now if anyone has any tips on not hoarding food, I would love to hear them! I'm definitely a food hoarder! I think it comes from living overseas and wanting British stuff that only comes in huge multipacks on Amazon.

P. S.: Decluttering my pencil section in my desk. Will move into a tiny house in the nearer future and I'm trying to keep the office section as simple as possible. Watching other people declutter really helps getting me in the mood!

I find it so so much easier to declutter when I've been away. I always get rid of tonnes whenever we are back home for a few weeks. Definitely give fresh perspective :)

Love seeing little Zeus and the dogs again! Those adorable furry faces :) I love the decluttering inspiration. I decluttered my wardrobe a bit more the other day. I decluttered 6 clothing items and 2 pairs of shoes. The culls get smaller and smaller over time, but it's still really good to weed those few items out. It makes my wardrobe even more functional every time :) I've caught myself allowing items to start creeping into our apartment, so I need to do a 'brake check' as they say, and re-evaluate before it gets out of hand haha

Hi! Love that you're back in the UK as I love these kind of videos ☺️ Just wanted to say that I, like you, am a big reader but really struggle to actually read through periods of my life due to studying and not having enough time. I used to read whilst on the tube in London but don't have that option now I am back out in Suffolk. The things that have helped me are A. setting an alarm for about half hour earlier than you would normally wake up and reading first thing and B. getting into audiobooks. Me and my fiancé both have an audible account and then we share them, giving us both 2 audiobooks a month. Hope this helps! xx

Oh man this is so satisfying to watch. It is so great so see how you are refining what you want to own, what you love, need and use. Also does your old bedroom still have some of your stuff in it? My husband keeps weird electronic bits too. My issue is that he is techy and geeky by nature. Then he studied anthropology and later became a robotics and engineering educator. Between the books on obscure peoples of somewhere in history and bits from robots long since dismantled drives me crazy. Which says a lot because I myself double majored in Art History and Pre-Law. The books and art supplies I had pre-minimalism was immense! I've since learned to contain his bits or electronic craziness and give him his own room. I can ignore anything behind one closed door! And as a side note, love your masala dabba tiffin!

I'm decluttering more clothes today. It seems like I've done 20 rounds of clothing declutter at this point and there's still always more to go. I've been doing it for over a year and have yet to miss something I donated. :)

We have a pile of stuff to Declutter outgrown clothes of my sons, kids teepee he doesn't like, rug we don't need, toys he doesn't play with, a few kitchen items. We also have a few big items we are trying to sell one of my three art easels lol, couch, guest bed(no one comes to visit us we just moved to Washington DC).

Angela Kneller Sadly we didn't film any PEI vlogs as we just needed the time off after a busy few months. Definitely planning on a beauty DIY video very soon so keep an eye out! Second hand is the way to go! I know there are websites that sell brand new but secondhand kitchens that have been taken out of homes when people bought them and didn't like them! Also lots of DIYs is always a good idea for things like shelving, desks etc!

My fiance has so many little bits and when I ask what it is, he has no idea! He used to want to keep those things "just in case", but now, he's seen how much better it is to live minimally and he'll get rid of them, but somehow they still appear :)

Yep, you definitely have to take EVERYTHING out of boxes etc. It's the only way to get rid of those hundreds of "maybes" that you have in your stuff. I love organising my cupboards and drawers in different styles, always adapting to the ever-decreasing amount of stuff in them. It works so much better than just randomly taking things out and leaving the rest in there.
