The clothing minimalism is way too hard for me to fullfill because I live in a country with four seasons which means that I cannot wear the same things I wear on summer and wear them on winter too. Summertime wardrobe of mine is quite small, but my winter wardrobe is giant - winter boots, caps, scarfs, gloves, puffers, coats, warm sweaters, warm pants and other things. But I believe that minimalism is different for everybody. I mean I DO wear every single item of my gigantic wardrobe, so I don't think it's something bad to have more clothes if you need them and if you actually wear them.

I am so with you! It is so much harder when you have four distinct seasons and the summers are super hot while the winters are really cold!

I'm in the same situation! My home town goes from 90° in the summer and -15° in the winter so my wardrobe seems massive. But it's not.

Also, I have to wear business attire to work... in 4 distinct seasons. And I don't want to wear business attire in my day-to-day? So that expands my wardrobe considerably :(

I have three seasons and change my wardrobe every season by putting them in quality containers and rotating them. So I have what she has, but in seasonal buckets.

I wish I was a minimalist, but I'm the opposite I am a hoarder, I personify everything so i get attach to the randomist objects and then keep them for way to long, and I also get bad anxiety with throwing things out cause I just do ??? so watching this video and seeing how little you have is like amazing ! and inspiring

I just thrift shop; I wear colorful, random, intense shirts, tight jeans, and cardigans. I sew them up, wear them out, and rotate through them for seasons so I always end up with something "new." I wouldn't say I'm fashionable (and other people often say I'm the opposite of fashionable!), but I'm cheap and try to limit my clothes to something manageable. I always enjoy looking at people's closets though, and seeing how they express themselves!

So in love with your style, and this is very relevant because I'm struggling with how much clothes I should be travelling with right now. I've found I'm gradually replacing clothes that I like but aren't quite right and aren't great quality with very similar but better versions of them. Helps to keep the wardrobe fresh without gaining weight, and hopefully the upgraded pieces last longer

I don't think I could call myself a minimalist, but I try my best to keep the amount of stuff I have at a minimum. Most notably clothes. I'm going through a huge wardrobe overhaul, but I'm not throwing everything out at once. Every new piece of clothing added means an old one is getting replaced. And to be completely honest it's a really good set-up!

Thanks for the inspiration! I said that I was going to go minimalist about a year ago and got rid of A LOT! Now I have an entire room filled with clothes AGAIN and I really need to go through them. I want to be living out of one suitcase per person in my family....which is still a lot but so much better then a whole house full! But the suitcase will also have to hold our electronics, toiletries any other supplies we own.

There is also the wardrobe methodology that when you buy something new, you need to throw out something old, so that you maintain the same level of clothes consistently. It also makes your wardrobe purchases consequential, where you have to think of what you want to sacrifice if you want to keep whatever you're about to buy. This method works best for me. :)

When I travel for a longish time I realise I can live with very little clothing so long as I can access laundry, BUT one thing I did notice is that you definitely pack easier for warmer climates, Cold and wet is an awkward combination, and shoes are the worst, Boots take up so much room, but sometimes you need warm/dry shoes!

My husband and I are just beginning to travel more with our free time. This year we have taken two trips one to florida and the other to location about 3 hours from our home in Tennessee. Both times I tried to pack smart and only take what I knew I would wear. This last trip I took my smallest bag figuring if I had a small bag I would pack less. The truth is I ended up washing and wearing my clothes since the house we rented had a washer and dryer. Nice to have by the way will not travel again without access to one. Didn't have to spend the last day of our vacation washing clothes just uppacking our suitcases. But most of the clothing I took we never wore and we ended up buying 2 pair of pants for him to wear because he forgot to pack comfort clothing. We went hiking, kayaking (we own our own and transport them on a trailer with us when we travel). And had an amazing time but feel rather guilty about all the crap I ended up taking and didn't need. We are planning our next trip now and trying to decide what exactly we want to take with us clothing wise to save on space. Looking at going to China for 8 days in the spring. Any tips or tricks you could give would be great. Love your channel and your videos. Am learning how to do selfies of us together on our trips and your how to shoot men was really helpful got some amazing shots of him and one good shot of us together.

Hi Sorel I have a suggestion that you might like it and even make video/s out this idea! Take pictures wearing every single piece you have for at list one full day, at the end of the day note down what was your feeling wearing it, and mention if you want to keep it/ maybe or definitely not/ until you have completed all your stuff. This makes you aware by observing your feeling owning that piece of clothe. At the end of this exercise you end up having nice photos with all your garments, and for then if you decide of give them away you already have memories with clothe that most probably you chose because you like them. I wish I had the chance to do this when I had to run as a refugee leaving totally every thing literally. Now from time to time I remember my stuff and miss it. Peace, Neyruz xx

I am not a full-time traveller but I am doing backpacking in Thailand for 2 months so here is my none minimalist minimalist clothing (if anyone cares :) ) 10 tops 2 blouses 1 dress 4 shorts 3 pants 2 sports bra 3 normal bras 6 pair of socks 10 panties So yes I could have brought cut down almost to half of these things. This video was a really nice reminder for me because here are very cheap clothes that are kinda nice but not enough to bring me joy

YESSS I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS. I just came back to the philppines after going to a songwriters camp in south africa. i brought 2 strollers with so much clothes and i hardly used anything!!! I just got back and moved into a new unit and i feel like giving all my clothes away and just get things that i will definitely wear because i want to be like in and out and not feel pressured to be wearing somethig different with every video i do :)) love you sorelle please cone to the philippines!!

I've just read Marie Kondos book! It's a relief to get rid of all the stuff that gathered together over the years. You and your videos are such an inspiration, love it!
