The clothing minimalism is way too hard for me to fullfill because I live in a country with four seasons which means that I cannot wear the same things I wear on summer and wear them on winter too. Summertime wardrobe of mine is quite small, but my winter wardrobe is giant - winter boots, caps, scarfs, gloves, puffers, coats, warm sweaters, warm pants and other things. But I believe that minimalism is different for everybody. I mean I DO wear every single item of my gigantic wardrobe, so I don't think it's something bad to have more clothes if you need them and if you actually wear them.
@lynneaelsasser28216 жыл бұрын
I am so with you! It is so much harder when you have four distinct seasons and the summers are super hot while the winters are really cold!
@beeb12935 жыл бұрын
I'm in the same situation! My home town goes from 90° in the summer and -15° in the winter so my wardrobe seems massive. But it's not.

Also, I have to wear business attire to work... in 4 distinct seasons. And I don't want to wear business attire in my day-to-day? So that expands my wardrobe considerably :(

I just thrift shop; I wear colorful, random, intense shirts, tight jeans, and cardigans. I sew them up, wear them out, and rotate through them for seasons so I always end up with something "new." I wouldn't say I'm fashionable (and other people often say I'm the opposite of fashionable!), but I'm cheap and try to limit my clothes to something manageable. I always enjoy looking at people's closets though, and seeing how they express themselves!

There is also the wardrobe methodology that when you buy something new, you need to throw out something old, so that you maintain the same level of clothes consistently. It also makes your wardrobe purchases consequential, where you have to think of what you want to sacrifice if you want to keep whatever you're about to buy. This method works best for me. :)

My husband and I are just beginning to travel more with our free time. This year we have taken two trips one to florida and the other to location about 3 hours from our home in Tennessee. Both times I tried to pack smart and only take what I knew I would wear. This last trip I took my smallest bag figuring if I had a small bag I would pack less. The truth is I ended up washing and wearing my clothes since the house we rented had a washer and dryer. Nice to have by the way will not travel again without access to one. Didn't have to spend the last day of our vacation washing clothes just uppacking our suitcases. But most of the clothing I took we never wore and we ended up buying 2 pair of pants for him to wear because he forgot to pack comfort clothing. We went hiking, kayaking (we own our own and transport them on a trailer with us when we travel). And had an amazing time but feel rather guilty about all the crap I ended up taking and didn't need. We are planning our next trip now and trying to decide what exactly we want to take with us clothing wise to save on space. Looking at going to China for 8 days in the spring. Any tips or tricks you could give would be great. Love your channel and your videos. Am learning how to do selfies of us together on our trips and your how to shoot men was really helpful got some amazing shots of him and one good shot of us together.

Hi Sorel I have a suggestion that you might like it and even make video/s out this idea! Take pictures wearing every single piece you have for at list one full day, at the end of the day note down what was your feeling wearing it, and mention if you want to keep it/ maybe or definitely not/ until you have completed all your stuff. This makes you aware by observing your feeling owning that piece of clothe. At the end of this exercise you end up having nice photos with all your garments, and for then if you decide of give them away you already have memories with clothe that most probably you chose because you like them. I wish I had the chance to do this when I had to run as a refugee leaving totally every thing literally. Now from time to time I remember my stuff and miss it. Peace, Neyruz xx
