Thank you for including our Essential Mascara and sharing your feedback on the plastic in our packaging. We agree that our packaging is not as sustainable and low waste as it could be, and we are now in the process of creating a plastic free refillable Mascara. We are hoping to launch the refillable Mascara packaging later this year. Thank you for supporting sustainability 💚🌱

I love seeing someone else with a reMarkable!!!! It was an amazing purchase for me and has been a huge game changer for me. I truly use it every day and it has replaced notepads and sticky notes so no more wasting paper! I can sign and send documents so I haven't used a printer in a year and a half minimum. I can also use it for teaching where I can share what I am writing on a remarkable notepad or uploaded document. The best!!

Have you ever looked into cake mascara like Besame? It's plastic free, began, cruelty free, and I've seen really great reviews of it. Plus they sell refills of the cake for when you run out of it and you just keep refilling the metal tin the first one comes in. You could even use the mascara wand from one of the tubes you already have to apply it.

I have a rechargeable lighter and in the almost 1 year I've had it now, I haven't had to charge it yet. Plus the gooseneck is so much better for getting down into a candle jar, regular lighters are so hard for that sometimes.

Try the Makeup Eraser cloths! Reusable and does a great job at removing makeup. You could potentially purchase a set that is packaged in a reusable container as well.
@9melissal2 жыл бұрын
This is a great idea because it won't tug her eyes like a wash cloth and doesn't require any additional makeup remover product. As far as I know it's reusable for as long as you take care of it.

Always great videos Rebecca. 🙏🏻 Here is a thought....I make my own laundry detergent. I use Borax, washing soda, baking soda, fels naptha (shredded like cheese) oxyclean and a scent booster. It last forever and almost all of the ingredients comes in boxes. I'm sure you will research more. It's extremely affordable and cleans so well. Keep those videos coming! You're awesome ☺️
@9melissal2 жыл бұрын
I do this without the oxy and the scent booster for years now with the same fels naptha laundry bar and it works great. You don't need the oxy since the washing soda is basically the same thing.

Some oils i find very effective for removing make up is extra virgin olive oil, argan oil, jojoba oil or an actual dedicated oil cleanser. The plantbased oils are great at removing make up, but require a second wash with like a waterbased cleanser. However, many make up cleansing oils emulsify and don't require a second wash. 😊

The Rocketbook notebooks are a good notebook option that isn’t AS wasteful. They are reusable notebooks but they require a specific type of plastic pen for use. However they are a much lower price point at $30-40

For occasional notes I used an erasable notebook. I think it is plastic but you can wipe the page clean and I use it again and again.

I have a remarkable too and LOVE mine. You should do a "Minimalist Empties" video where you review those items like you did at the end of this video. I would really like that. Speaking of which... Are you still using those compostable cotton swabs? Where were they from again?

Have you tried rewritable stone paper notepads yet? They were a game changer for me. Simply scan the notes you want to hold on to and whipe/erase your notepad on a regular basis.

I use the Bite bamboo toothbrush, which the website says has completely home compostable bristles [I think its a relatively new change from their old bamboo toothbrushes]. It might be a good option to check out if your interested in finding a completely compostable option:)

What do you think about the konjac makeup sponges? I actually love them as they are minimal, natural, vegan and compostable. It does mean you need to replace it every now and then, but I find that they work good with oil cleansers and some are packaged in paper :) I use it only once a day, they are gentle

Interesting video, Rebecca. ♥ I tried Brush with Bamboo toothbrushes, but I have a small mouth and the heads are just too long for me. They don't fit well in my mouth. Injuries ensued. LOL I now use The Future is Bamboo and I believe they are a good, sustainable company. Same problem, though - the bristles are recyclable, but not compostable. I'm not sure it's possible to have compostable bristles. However, I look at it this way - it's a whole lot less plastic than a totally plastic toothbrush, yes? ♥

Love that shawl but I do find allot of those thrift sellers buy stuff really from value village and the quadruple the price because it’s ‘carefully curated’ what does that even mean?! It’s a shame Elate have plastic because their eyeshadow comes in flower seed paper to plant.

You can use a normal, but mild (so it's not burning in the eyes) bar of Hand soap for washing off the Mascara. That's what I do. It works good for me 🤗 The tablet would not work for me at all, I'm too old school for that 🤓 though I'm really impressed what variety of electronic devices you can find today...I didn't even knew something like that existed 😅 Love the scrunchy look! 😘
