sublime! Cudos to the architect and client who chose to reference the old and bring it into the new. With such a contemporary design aesthetic driving the project it could be tempting to make it all modern. I enjoyed the deliberate reference to the original villa as a counterpoint to the more modern parts. They highlight each other and give the project startling juxtapositions that are delightful. A work of art. This is architecture on a fine level.
