Another idea, Fernanda. If I'm going with a larger group of family and friends, and traveling for more than 2 weeks, we all take refillable containers and plan for restocking mid-trip. We buy regular-sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner, sunscreen, mouthwash, for example, and divide them into everyone's containers. This saves a lot of money, because travel sizes of these items are NOT good value!

Thank you ! And I agree with flat packing unless moving from hotel to hotel every couple of nights, like on a bus trip , where I want to be able to see all of my options at a quick glance. I love Kon Mari style , but I also use compression packing cubes , and sometimes rolling or flat packing works best in those kinds of cubes. Rolling increases wrinkles for me , but maybe I am doing something wrong . I started using packing cubes after my items had been randomly riffled through by a TSA inspector . I prefer that strangers not touch my stuff ! Have you modeled ? If not, you should consider it ! Your outfit modeling videos prove your talents to do just that ! I love watching your productions ! Even if you can’t vote ! :)

@@sherryseher7736 I agree with you that rolling creates more wrinkles! I recently saw a Tiktok of a girl who has folding all of her outfits together in the Konmari way so she could stack them up like books. It only works if you're not going to repeat pieces, but it was definitely clever!

Fernanda---I usually bring a bar of Castille soap. I can use it for laundry, but also in the shower. That way, if I'm not checking luggage, I don't have to fit 2 more bottles (detergent and body soap) in the 3-1-1 TSA bag. And if I'm staying at a hotel where they supply shampoo and body wash, I don't bring any kind of soap, I just use theirs for my body and my clothes.
@irairod51603 жыл бұрын
@@vazq_Fernanda Yes, it's not the most luxurious or skin-nourishing soap, and I wouldn't use it in the shower every day (I find it a bit drying) but in a pinch, you can cleanse your hair AND do the dishes with Castille soap! LOL! I often buy solid shampoo bars to pack for travel, but finding the one that is perfect (not soo rich, and not too stripping) for one's hair takes a lot more trial and error. Soaps designed for babies are another great choice because they're (generally) mild enough to use as shampoo if your hair is not too finnicky. Just rub the bar between your hands until it suds up, then apply the suds to your hair. If you rub the bar on your hair, you're going to lose a lot of strands! Thanks for sharing these travel-themed videos, I love them!

Brilliant minds think alike! :-) :-) :-) I keep a toiletry bag packed all the time, and a list inside it, to make sure I don't forget my more "perishable" things, like the very specific contact lens solution I must use. It has a short shelf life, and it's NOT readily available worldwide. If I leave it behind, I'm in trouble!
@irairod51603 жыл бұрын
@@vazq_Fernanda I have a rare eye condition that requires very specialized lens cleaning products AND a non-sterile solution to fill up the lenses prior to insertion. These things expire sooner than regular contact lens products and are not readily available everywhere I go...so I'm always hyper-diligent packing my own. And yes, I keep a printed list IN the toiletry bag, and a digital copy on my phone. I figure I can always buy a new top, earrings, toothpaste, lipstick if I need more, but there are certain toiletry "Holy Grails" (mineral sunscreen, skincare, hairstyling gel) that I prefer not to experiment with when traveling.

I don't understand why people want to pack everything in a carry on
@vazq_Fernanda3 жыл бұрын
Because you don’t have to: 1. Pay to bring your luggage 2. Wait for it to come out after you land 3. Risk the airline losing your luggage 4. Risk anything breaking or getting stolen from your luggage Those are a few of the reasons why I do it!
@missmayflower2 жыл бұрын

I saw a version of the 54321 that's slightly less compact than this; 5 tops, 4 bottoms, 3 dresses, 3 shoes, 2 bags, 2 swimsuits, 1 hat, 1 watch, 1 pair of sunglasses. It's the basic formula that I use for all my packing now, then adjust up or down as needed for the trip. I like the idea of layering pieces though, so going forward I think I'll probably replace one or two dresses with that, I'm not really a 'casual dress' girl.
@Merryyy2032 жыл бұрын
Besides that, I love how before that you say that if it is not a real necessity, you leave it at home. That one carry-on for 2 weeks is awesome. If I go to places that are warm, I would probably take even less. I do sweat a bit and do not like wearing t-shirts twice, I do not feel comfortable. Unless they are oversized, in that case, there is not that much contact with the armpits. I prefer sleeveless tops, I would even wear them 5 times before washing unless it is too hot and you sweat a lot so it smells. A bar of shampoo-soap, toothbrush, toothpaste tabs, dental floss, small deodorant cream, and comb. I don't normally wear makeup but concealer and I are good friends, so the small container to apply with fingers, so no extra anything. Maybe just a small container with a bit of jojoba oil to remove it. I first travelled with just a small backpack 5 years ago to visit a friend for four days in the summer, since then I refuse to take more than hand luggage. The money you save and the time by not having to wait to get the suitcases. Let's not forget how heavy it can get with all the "just in case" items. This is just a small remark: I don't believe you said this in a bad way but this triggered me a little bit "name weird items you travel with, some people travel with their dog" as if an animal were an object. You did not say this but I hear many people referring to animals as "it" or to themselves as "owners". Maybe it is time we start changing the way we talk to change the way we see things 😊

@@vazq_Fernanda that checklist helped not only me but my kids too. It will come in very handy for going to the different hotels then kids can check their lists to make sure nothing is left behind. Thank you so much for doing that. Saving it for later trips too.

Hi there! Thanks for this video! Let me share with you my favorite travel bag from Nomad Lane. It’s a bento bag with a lot of compartment and packs like a suitcase. You’ll surely love it!
