Minimalist wallet & EDC pouch for under £5

What a super idea. I bought a Bellroy zip wallet a few years ago to keep card, cash and keys together for around £50… wish I’d thought of this myself and saved myself a stack of cash to actually keep in my wallet. Great work!!

The Bellroy stuff always looks reeeeally nice but my goodness they charge a pretty penny for it. This system I use is pretty much perfect for my needs though 👍👌 Thank you for commenting 🙂

Nice idea. I don't carry a wallet anymore, since losing one a couple of years ago, the inconvenience and expense of replacing everything was ridiculous. Now I just carry my phone and some emergency cash in one of those key chain pill bottles. I photographed all my cards and have the payment cards in my Google Wallet.

Yeah, I most often just use my phone for payments nowadays but it’s weighs almost nothing and takes up almost no space to carry my card and cash in this little wallet. Totally get you about the massive hassle if you lose your cards though… uuurgh! ✌️

Someone’s messaged me earlier to say the adhesive failed on theirs when they made one: I’d maybe advise once you’ve made it to compress it under some heavy books for a couple of hours or something 🤷‍♂️ The one I made 2 years ago is still going strong though with no such issues and I love this as a super compact but expandable wallet! 👌👌👌

My minimalist iPhone 12 Mini lives in a very durable case that holds up to 6 cards (driver’s license, health insurance card, work ID, Costco membership card, and my debit card). Other than that, my EDC gear consists of a simple stainless steel money clip, my 36 year AA medallion, a Chap Stick, AirPods, and my Victorinox Mini Champ.

@accoutrements4469 I've had no problems at all with the adhesive. You're right, it's a great compact EDC pouch. The elasticity is a bonus. Holds everything in place really well 🤝🤝🤝

Hmm, may not use for a wallet but getting other ideas. Would these fit in an Altoids/EDC tin? Stick one in the lid and the bottom to organize and keep stuff from rattling around. Do the wallet style and use them in my EDC pouches like my Maxpedition mini to organize smaller items that dont fit in the stretch loops. Lots of uses!!

I can’t find my Altoids tin atm so I’m sorry I can’t advise you on this… hmmm, the wallet is a couple off mm wider than a credit card on the long sides and maybe 3mm or so wider on the short sides so not sure if it’d be ever so slightly too big or not? But either way I do love your thoughts on alternative uses: small, stretchy, adhesive-backed pouches - gotta be a million uses for them!! 👍👍

Mr. A happy Friday. I have a black leather wallet that I have been carrying since Moses crossed the Red Sea, its well worn but still sturdy and like a loved one I simply cant bear to part with it even though I was gifted a new and lighter leather wallet last year but have yet to use it. My old wallet and my Keyring SAK (currently a silvertech scaled midnite-manager) are part of me and I feel naked if I leave home without either of them.

That orange flashlight was a Nitecore Tube V2: brilliant little light, now discontinued and only 55 lumens max output but so small and slim and light with a great user interface - still a great edc light if you can find one cheap enough 👍
