Yeah, they are funny as hell, they're good as individual creators but the whole "beta squad" thing for me never worked. All these other groups basically tried to do what the sidemen did, which isn't necessarily how you should go about things. But like Simon mentioned it's frustrating because they're all so very talented, it's just that it never really pieced together as "the beta squad" they should have just kept it focused on their individual channels but collabing as a squad.

Lie detectors are only about 50% accurate most of the time, and we are taught that in criminology classes. That's why, at least in America I don't know about other places, you can't use lie detector results in court as evidence against an individual.

They're bad, but they are significantly better than 50%. 50% is literally completely guessing, no matter what information/signals/behaviours the person exhibits. If done properly (by someone actually qualified, as well as all the proper controls), they can be up to 75-90% accurate. But that also takes hours, and still obviously isn't sufficient for a court.

Yes they can be up to 80 to 90 % accurate but the majority of the time they aren't that accurate and usually are only around 50% accurate. Simply bring very nervous can make your results show a lie when it's true, simply getting flustered about a question can make it show a lie when its true because it only measures things such as heart rate, sweat levels, breathing, etc. All which can change by a flip of a coin.

@@facilitysh5462 The 50% number is made up by your teacher, and isn't supported by the actual data. First of all, it doesn't even make logical sense to be 50% accurate. Regular people themselves are, on average, around 55% accurate when telling if someone is lying. It makes no sense that a professional who is trained to try and detect lies who also benefits from far more information would somehow be less accurate than a random person with less information. That clearly can't be true. Secondly, there have been many scientific studies (and meta studies of those) on this topic. They clearly show that, when done properly (which also excludes every KZbin lie detector, since none are done properly), they are significantly more accurate than 50% (70% - 90% from the ones I've read). One example: "A comprehensive meta-analysis of the comparison question polygraph test" (Hounts, Thurber, Handler, 2020) Obviously, this is still not good enough to use as evidence in court, because it would be stating something as a fact which clearly isn't close to 100% accurate. And the ones done by KZbinrs are also completely worthless. But genuine tests DO have a significantly better than 50% rate of accuracy
