WOW 😮 Paignton Fun Fair Vlog - Anderton & Rowlands, Devon! July 2023

Join Myself and Libby for Anderton & Rowlands Fun Fair on Paignton green, Right on the seafront for Paignton festival, Great selection of machines including the gorgeous looking Matterhorn "Freddie's Revenge" Such a top machine and really packs a punch! The art work is amazing and it's recently had a make over, Also was a set of frogs I've not seen before, Massive fun house, 2 Sets of Dodgems, Star flyer, Miami and Freak Out plus a Twist and a simply stunning Waltzer! Breathtaking..
The rides were priced at £4 a ride with mixed cycles, The Matterhorn felt just short of two minutes and did the frogs and did honestly feel disappointed after paying £8 for me and Libby to ride, felt it could of been a bit longer. I didn't mind paying the £4 if the cycle was better.
Overall it was a good fair with a good atmosphere, Beautiful location and some top machines.

I expect the cycles were shorter because it's during the day , I always find that the rides are shorter during the day as their are kids around and the rides don't do their full potential, I found that on the twist at Christchurch I felt like it could have done better than it did tbh But so glad you found a fair on holiday no vlog would be complete without a fair 😊❤

Excellent vlog Dave all the machines move to Torquay for the summer holidays. People want value for money and at £4 per rider less than 2 minutes is not good. Families will opt for something else and not support the fairs.

Trivial Comment, when I was about 12 or 13 we went down to A and R on Paignton Green and lent a hand too set up the fair rides in return for a nights Free rides , can you imagine now 😂Health and Safety would be having heart attacks , those where the innocent days of youth , I used too bolt the animals on the Jungle ride , it seemed so fast then , Happy Days ! I should add that was about the Summer of 1972 or 1973 .

@@SlothyVlogs It's mental , I think you did the Devey Waltzer a few years back ,so both travel Devon and Cornwall,they had City of Plymouth years ago too ,that was just as nuts , surprised by the cycle on the frogs though ,that's usually a backwards cycle included in the price ,must of been a one off ,as for the freakout that has always been a beast , Freddy's Revenge though , I thought was poor value a quick burst of speed then it was over for £4 a person it was a bit cheeky.

I would recommend you, the Cranger Kirmes in Herne, Germany if you want a big fun fair with plenty of amazing rides. It's playtime is from August 3rd to August 13th.

ya know when you have a random thought while watching something and its like huh that would be cool.... seeing as waltzers have only ever had 1 upgrade over the years pretty much to the wheelless designs, wonder what would happen if they made a waltzter using the same kinda tech that goes into the cars on a shake... coz the hilled platform could get them cars flipping like crazy while spinning.... now just to find a manufacture crazy enough to try and build it!

Anderton & Rowland's aka DeVay's, heard good things about this fair, Sobema Matterhorn, £4! Ouch! Safeco Jump n' Smile, KMG Freak Out, Maxwell Waltzer, Keith Emmett Miami, they are nippy! my favourite Miami's Nice fair and great video as always, I'm off to Gorleston tomorrow to check out their fair

Sorry to read in the intro description you had 2 ride times falling short of 2 minutes, when my gaffer left me in the paybox he was always saying give them a good ride 3 minutes minimum even if busy on our Matterhorn, Ski Jump Coaster and Dodgems. This was early 1990's mind, different time to compare with today's costs i guess.

​@@SlothyVlogsTo put it in perspective, Shaun gave me and my Brother a free ride on Freddy's revenge, it was not busy at all due to the weather, we were the only two on it, not only that, we got about a 3 minute cycle and he ran it flat out for us which we got some serious height on those cars. I can really see why you were disappointed with that and the frogs. On the flip side great vlog as always 😊.

Some have different speeds but mostly normally run as the same, The newer twists seem to be more family focused compared to an older MK1 model

£4 a ride is a bit steep for the time you got, that's why there are not many riding, best to do it cheaper and fill the seats

The put new artwork on the paybox was done last weekend really finishes it off, the frogs are Edward Evans ex crows who usually travel with David Rowlands when u left the freakout went to Torquay and Edward Evans thriller express matterhorn(a second matterhorn and twist) is there now along with Evans twist U comments must have caught the people because they now reverse freddys revenge and everyone's talking about it!!!! 😊😊😊 😊 Shame u missed Kingsbridge they had rockrage kmg Inversion and over the falls booster

Freddies revenge is such great machine. But that cycle was an absolute piss take.. It wasn't even busy either. Im all up for supporting fairs but I really don't know where they were coming from with that one. Such ashame.

The terminator miami is 25years old very popular ride on the westcountry the other terminator miami is owned by westcountry showman to The hellraiser waltzer has changed over the years never use rounding boards and had a different paybox it's over 40years old the purists will tell u the original hellraiser was the better version For some reason the wild mouse roller coaster isn't there this year Im not sure why so u missed a credit there The drift dodgems are brand new this season from Anderton and Rowlands they sold the orbiter and cage (I think is in Scotland) the orbiter now up ur way they also sold there thriller matterhorn which is very sadly missed
