Mining in 2HOL is very different from the way it is in OHOL. I tried to put in all the info you could possibly want on mining. Did I forget something? Let me know in the comments!
Thanks to Tanya for setting up the mining area and to Zabala for doing some mining with me!

I've been playing Two Hours One Life since 2020, a few years after I discovered One Hour One Life thanks to the videos of Twisted (aka HoneyBunnyGames!)
Initially I was hooked on One Hour One Life but after a while I wanted an experience that was a bit quieter, more cozy and less chaotic. Two Hours One Life was the answer!
Find it on www.twohourson...
(Best of all: this game is free!)
Since then, Two Hours One Life has kept developing in the best ways possible. With a more advanced smithing and mining system than its steam predecessor One Hour One Life, more building options, new biomes, more sprites, prettier clothes, more food, it became a staple game in my household, and at the moment I started recording for youtube I already had over 2700 hours in the game.
I stream on Twitch regularly: www.twitch.tv/cartoonjessie
I also have a discord you are welcome to join: / discord
Thanks for your support, don't forget to like and subscribe! If you wish to see a certain type of video, leave a comment to let me know!

First thing you should make with iron is anvil, hammer, chisel and nails so you can make spinning wheel. It's huge step in a town development (you need the ropes for many stuff). Knife is not important at all since it doesn't differ from bronze one that much (can be repaired, but that's it). If you need to make any tool I would say steel file and steel shears so you can get your honey farm going. Everything else (knife, axe, shovel etc.) can wait till you get your first level four iron mine. You can make steel pickaxe to upgrade your adobe kilns but that's it. However don't use steel pickaxes for mining because makes you basically lose iron to get iron. Bronze pickaxes work on all types of mine (except the engine one, since you just use your hands there). Remember you need to make a newcommen, blast furnace, bessemer, ladle cart, steel beams and second engine before you can upgrade your iron mine to level 4. It's tons of iron. And before that your iron is a valuable and limited resource.

Very timely. I've had a lot of brand new players wanting to learn about mining and what to look for in a spawn.

Ooooh.... "What to look for in a spawn" - that's a great title for a new video. ;-) Writing that down and stealing it haha. Thanks for the comment!

great video and I love Zabala's town Little Meadow 💖 his limestone mine setup is so efficient - I'll definitely be making one like that after next map wipe! I agree with Astrid about what to make with your first iron - anvil, steel hammer, chisel, file, pickaxe, steel shears, nails for spinning wheel, newcomen and its parts (roller, lathe, bore, drill, hammer). that's already like... 20 iron used up without making an engine for a blast furnace or a bessemer yet! don't bother with other steel tools until you have an infinite iron mine... unless you're lucky like me and have 3 mines in your smithy ;) it's good to scout out spawn codes before settling too... making sure to have iron mines close by to where you settle.

Perhaps this is a non-answer, but I think that you should focus on a variety of content for the short to medium term, like you have been. It helps to reach a larger audience and build a backlog of videos for interested people to binge on. The algorithm will promote to each person what will interests them the most.

@@nmay231 very smart insight! Thanks for your comment! Do you have a preferred length yourself?

@@CartoonJessie For informational videos, I prefer a couple minutes of highly edited, information-packed video. I guess it's basically what you are doing with your YT shorts. But that's partially because I've already binged some of Twisted's videos on OHOL before coming to 2HOL, so I've been looking for shorter videos to get up to speed as I get into the game. But I've also watching more long form/lightly edited content on my second monitor while playing certain games like modded minecraft. I will say, I've tried it with 2HOL, but I'm still at the point where I have to constantly think about what needs doing in the town, eat when I'm hungry, etc. That makes it harder, haha. Here's a few video ideas, btw. I'm in a bit of a brain-storming mood lol. - 2HOL for OHOL experts: Just highlight differences between the game. Viewers can also be "couch experts" who have simply watched a lot of OHOL videos and would be interested in actually playing a very similar game, that also happens to be free *wink wink* - Stages of a "civilisation" ( aka town ): List the requirements and challenges of going from an eve town to a self-sufficient "metropolis" with airplanes and cars. At a very high-level of course. - Decor options: Maybe one of those short videos can just show a list of all the current decoration options and the building materials used to make them. Also include a few example palettes (aka combinations of wall and floor that looks nice). I've never been much of a decorator myself, but if I was given a few simple yet decent looking palettes to work with, I would probably build more in my Eve town.

@@nmay231 Thanks so much for the ideas! I been wanting to tackle an OHOL/2HOL comparison video since I started the channel but actually need to play a little bit more OHOL (again) to make sure I get the differences right. And thanks for telling me your preference for informational videos! That's always good to know! I myself watch Twisted while playing games too, but also find I can't watch it while playing OHOL cause the sounds are the same and then I'm like "wait is someone cursing someone?" and then it ends up being in twisted's video XD
