This concept is like that one episode of Fairly OddParents: "When do we get to the ride?" "This IS the ride! *YIPEEE!"* "It's a stand-through, or a Stand-GRU if you will"...well played. Let's be honest, it won't be a true moving walkway attraction without: *"The moving walkway exit is approaching. Please, watch your step"*

People walking and standing all day, for multiple days, then come to this ride? Someone’s going to try to sit. And what about the people that want more time in an area, trying to go backwards. People will be getting off that platform constantly either to avoid someone or to stay longer.
@Collector3476
@Collector3476 Жыл бұрын
@@UmmYeahOk that is a point but I don't think that it's going to be a problem if people decide to get off the moving belt to stay longer in the same scene.
@UmmYeahOk
@UmmYeahOk Жыл бұрын
@@Collector3476 so there is a reason why the walkway belts that connect City Walk to Parking/busses have railings. If it were the Jetsons, sure, people could step off, possibly even pass the people taking up the entire space while standing even though the audio tells you not to do that. It’s to keep people safe. The other thing is that when Disney was imagineering Haunted Mansion and Pirates, they too were supposed to be walk through attractions. The problem/fear was that people would simply linger, and not leave. If you’ve ever been stuck on the Swiss Family Robinson/Tarzan Tree, you know how annoying this can be. Heck, some of the interactive queues, like Peter Pan are like this. Why aren’t they moving? Do you cut? But you want to see it too. Now it’s your turn, do you hold up the line, since the last group has now created such a massively huge gap? I could easily see this place becoming an Instagramable nightmare with people lining up just to take pics. Rather than point and shoot like the old days. And that’s with no moving floor. Imagine looking at something and accidentally stepping off, or being off and accidentally stepping on. Easy to do since you’re not paying attention to the floor, you’re looking at the actual attraction. All it takes it partial weight on just a bit of one foot. Now you’ve fallen, and everyone coming toward you may fall as well since the bulk of you is still stationary… …there’s just too much of a fall risk. It won’t happen. Besides, imagine staying on the belt and not even being able to see anything BECAUSE of the people standing off the belt. You too will have to step off the belt just to wait and see, if there is even space to wait. That belt would just remain turned off for safety issues like this.

I’m intrigued but if it does not contain any way to partition groups and have some sort of seating, this ride is going to be a nightmare for TM’s. Kids will run up and down the belt and most likely try to go into the sets. TM’s have to constantly prevent people from sitting where they shouldn’t be and a family who is standing the entire day would certainly find this as a prime opportunity. Another thing to note is that this attraction does not seem ADA accommodating for those in wheelchairs. They can’t be on moving walkways anywhere else in the park even as straight belts. This one has turns which would not work at all. Hopefully when the time comes and the details are officially released it’ll make more sense. But currently with the info provided I’m not big on it.

Weird to me that Universal opted to only use half the building for a year round attraction to make room available for an event that's only a couple of months in the year. Plus, this year they still have the same amount of houses because they added one near Fast and Furious instead. The attraction could have been an actual ride had they decided to use the whole building (and an overall better experience).

Using half the building for hhn a once a year only event and empty the rest of the year feels like such a waste. Japan has two separate attractions now in their shrek replacement. I find this ride idea really baffling. It seems like as a minions ride it will be aimed at young kids, but the mix of young kids plus moving walkway sounds like an accident waiting to happen. Think of all those escalator type of stories. So will there be a height restriction to keep the littlest kids off it? Or I wonder what kind of safety devices they will build in? Also sounds like a nightmare for others who may have some health issues or disabilities. Moving walkway and having to stand in place plus target game sounds like vertigo in the making. Nice thing is it might be easy for a wheelchair to go on and off the track depending on how it's designed. Also seems like a waste of space only using a large part of the building a couple months a year. Think of how much bigger/better of a ride they could have done with the whole space.

Thiiiiiiiiis. If they're expecting any kind of additional interactivity beyond standing up right on a moving walkway with turns its just not going to happen. People get seriously injured on escalators. And that's just standing still, while being penned in with handrails on both sides. I've tripped myself standing still. I can't imagine a family with small children being able to keep this from becoming a pinball machine for those around them trying to stay in line.

Is the Potter expansion cancelled though? I believe you've suggested that the VR attraction is definitely cut from Epic, and the former HHN tent near the Men in Black queue is clearly absent when waiting for Bug house. With the way kids act at universal, they can’t even stand in line without tripping ppl I can’t imagin having a ton of rough kids on a moving walkway attraction all at once like that. Someone is going to bust their face for sure or trip somebody and make them fall off the walk way. I got bumped into and tripped soo many times at universal the kids just did not know how to act. I would wait and see before I brought any small kids on this. I can’t imagine how long this ride will last moving and with objects in their hands on top of that, someone would get hit in the head. Hopefully universal can pull some movie magic to make this work the way it was intended.

I see most kids actually kind of stay near their group and not actually running around it.

I think this would be such a cool attraction!! I’m curious to see how universal barricades the show scenes for this attraction! Since it is a moving walkway of sorts, I’m very curious to know about all the security and safety precautions they will have for this attraction!

This is such an weird concept! I mean, a walk through with a moving pathway?! You're gonna need a crew member on every corner to keep them from standing still or walking back. It'll be a nightmare.

I'll just say that the Shrek franchise should not be given up on by universal creative and I think there's plenty of potential for an actual good ride for it as well. Not saying an entire land has to be devoted to it, but it still deserves a ride. Universal outta really start using all these DreamWorks/illumination properties. There's a pretty good arsenal of them to work with. HTTYD land and the Pets ride are a good start but let's keep it going!

Obviously it’s hard to say now, but I have a hard time grasping this ride system. Giving people free will and not having them locked in a car sounds like a disaster for any ride. You are just begging for a group of people wanting to walk backwards to the start of the ride instead of exiting.

How many "walk thru" attractions can we even think of? Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland, some walk thru tours at DCA (one gone, the other no longer a tour), Walking Dead at USH, … And any of these popular? Will folks stand in line an hour to stand even more?

I'm seriously thinking this will be a temporary attraction so they can update or redo the main attraction across the street. That was the old Nickelodeon (Jimmy neutron) and Hanna Barbara - same ride vehicles, same ride premise. I'm predicting a Secret Life of pets ride but Gru storyline instead. Keeps it family friendly with high capacity.

I am 100% not excited about the idea of standing in line…. to stand in line. But I guess anything is better than the Shrek 4d ride. I am excited about a devoted haunted house area and the potential for Halloween to maybe come early or stick around later.

Things I love about this ride: 1) Capacity! Should be a fast moving (& hopefully short) wait time 2) More family rides for Uni Studios 3) Solid IP 4) Unique ride system Things that worry me: 1) Very safe & low-budget ride system 2) Potential for big headaches regarding ops with dumb guests 3) Standing on a theme park ride....ugh 4) Too many damn Minions.....

this really seems not much different than Soundstage 40's original attraction, Hitchcock. Multiple walkthrough interactive attractions that could only serve a number of guest at a time, but built in a way that once the personal experience is over, guest would (will) naturally move on. However, this is even better with the advantage of a moving track.
