The one thing I remember about the million man march was the strange feeling of peace. I don't mean like a truce kind of peace, but I mean a spiritual kind of peace. It started off a cold day in DC but it got warmer. Walking around and seeing Black men listening and relaxing was nice to see. No one seemed on edge or fearful. That kind of peace is not found out in the world as often as it should be. I believe that is the reality we strive to create. A place where we can be at peace and relaxed. That day was a milestone in my life.
