At the briefing with State House correspondents, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, @SenatorAKyari, updated Nigerians on the activities of the Ministry.
Key areas addressed included:
Continuous efforts to combat food inflation, which currently stands at approximately 34%.
Reports on increased food production and plans for the 2025 planting season.
Updates on the 2,000 tractors from Belarus and expectations for the 2025 harvest.
A work plan to deploy greenhouses and leverage technology to fast-track food production and other agricultural activities.
Synergy between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.
Recapitalization of the Bank of Agriculture (BOA) by the end of the first quarter of 2025.
Funding for smallholder farmers and addressing the long-standing issues of inadequate financial support for commercial agriculture.

Your articulations are laudable. I listened to you in another platform. My concern is a sustained implementation of all that you said. Wheat 🌾 production in South South is very great. God bless Nigeria
