In 2 Timothy 2:1-7, Paul utilizes three examples to demonstrate the kind of characteristics which a pastor must maintain in his ministry. A minister must maintain a singular focus, a holy life, and a relentless work ethic. The truth is, all of these commands and characteristics are applicable not only to pastors, but also to all of God’s people, as pastors are to serve as examples for the people of God.
