Al is very humble here....he gives props to Chris Connelly for doing the vocals but that’s only true for the live performance on the tour supporting Psalm 69 LP....on the record, that is Al pounding away on the vocals in his quintessential awesome cyber-punk Vox
@antichristian749 ай бұрын
originally it was chris on vocals, it is called tv song and is on the original single for jesus built my hotrod.

TV 2 is performed in real time....Bill Rieflin actually hammered away at those drums....Chris Connelly sings it live but Uncle Al does the vocals on the album!!!!!!!!!!!
@antichristian749 ай бұрын
there is a version called “tv song” on the original single for Jesus built my hotrod where Connelly is on vocals. it was re recorded for the album with Al on vocals and changed to TVII. there are a bunch more now, TVIII is on the single for “the fall”, etc. i think they’re on TVVII now.

what i would give to see THIS full episode... i recorded every single headbanger's ball i could... this was the last one i did, and i played this one endlessly... and there is a list of like 5 songs in the middle of it, leading up to NIN's head like a hole (i think lenny kravitz' "are you gonna go my way" was one of 'em... and i seem to remember a video with the guy who played webster)... i loved those songs, but i no longer remember what they are.

I have been to a lot of Goth clubs over the years and observed that people there including myself like to dance to a lot of the songs off With Sympathy such as Revenge, I wanted to tell her, work for love, effigy etc. Also, the album cover to With Sympathy is very Goth looking IMO. Although yes Goths also like other Ministry albums, but I think more so their earlier works like Twitch, The Mind..., LORAH, the Wax Trax singles from mid 80s, and even some of Psalm 69, Filth Pig, and Dark Side of The spoon. In fact their mid 80s Wax Trax single Everyday is Halloween has been somewhat adopted as a Goth national anthem song 👻. Ministry’s more recent albums are more straight metal and speed metal sounding IMO albeit still with heavy sampling and processed sounds at times. Some Goths may still like those albums, just not as much as Minitry’s earlier sound. Certainly Ministry has been very diverse and evolving in their sound and musical approach over their history.

rivotrich7 I was more or less talking about the 90’s stuff in my original comment

They had a lot of good music in the 90s. Personally I like their 80s music better including late 80s, but that’s just my taste.

Eh, it was Mikey's gtr. Playing that made psalm 69 luxa/pan was tapped out by 1990 as far as fresh sounds barker contributed alot of programming and houses of the mole the child of psalm 69 w Mike's return is the best record they had made since 1992 w no Paul....twitch was fucking awesome even the goth shit was awesome in its own way...listen to lead into gold it just sounds like ministry missing something and ministry could use a lil Paul barker now to freshen up their sound but that's it as far as NEED
