Just purchased a 2016 Grand Caravan very same color as the one above. Had a new 2006 Town and Country and put 280,000 before head engine went out. Only thing I ever did was an occasional water pump or alternator every 75,000 miles. Transmission was still good at 280,000.

I got a 2015 Grand Caravan new. Did a TON of research on it and others and a big selling point for me was the Stow N Go. LOVE that feature. I use it often. I also prefer the sporty design of the GC. I got the Blacktop package. I stayed away from getting too many bells and whistles. I am 6' 9" and I enjoy driving the GC for long road trips. The interior is not the best buy any means and is outdated but I'm ok with that. I like the overall sporty style and the Stow n Go is amazingly useful. I knew the Pacifica was right around the corner but I NEVER buy a new car the first 2/3 years a new model/generation is introduced. Overall I prefer the Pacifica for it's interior but I prefer the Grand Caravan for it's exterior design. And the van is almost paid off so not looking to start over again with a car note. Bought the lifetime warranty so I'll be driving it for a long while. Glad I purchased it.

Yup stow and go is just such a game changer in terms of practicality if you wanna use the cargo to its full potential. For me, even if other brands like Toyota may be better overall in terms of parts and machine quality that stow and go adds so much value, especially for roads trips, camping and as a utility vehicle.

Agreed. They managed to make such a buttery smooth column shifter, too. Much prefer it... though the gated one they use is still preferable to the dial/buttons.

Thirsty Fox Yeah I miss the Column shifter. I hear they were smooth. Like the Chrysler Aspen Column shifter should have at least went on to the 2008-2010 Dodge Grand Caravan/Town and Country. It’s probably because of the stupid manual shifting - + they wanted to put.

Good stuff guys! My 14 Grand Caravan w/126,000 miles (bought w/45,000) has been great. Other than a few minor problems it's been very dependable. It's funny how "disrespected" these things are. Considered dated, bland, soccer mom rides, etc., they're the butt of many jokes. When I was in high school, if you had a vehicle with almost 300 hp, disc brakes, good stereo, 6 spd tranny; you had a hot car! Like Wranglers, they should keep pumping em out without messing with them. They're kind of like the last of the "old school" breed. That appeals to me and why I'd choose one over the "gimmicky" Pacificas and Voyagers.

I prefer the classic squared look of the Grand Caravan. The Pacifica is very nice, my neighbor just bought a new 2023 Pacifica Pinnacle, for $55,000.00! They traded their 2018 Cadillac Escalade for the Pacific, and like it much better than the Cadillac.

@2013 Dodge Grand Caravan Yes, the reason in the Caravans in the rental and commercial fleets are normally sold off just after warrenty, that's 65,000klms. The lot are full of them, that's why the Caravan has poor trade in value!

The car lots are full off 5 year old vehicles, for good reason, cant find reliable repair shops, and when you do, you cant afford them. This is the norm.

Made in Canada matters. I did a lot of research. As a family always "Best-Bang for the Buck" is in the back of my mind. Honda, Toyota, Hyundai/Kia. Not worth the extra money. Your not just paying extra, your paying interest on the extra. Unless you walk into a dealership with 40K + cash in your pocket. your paying interest. All imports rust.All imports get stained by kids. Import parts and labour is more expensive, because your showing your mechanic you are willing to pay more. A -ha. Chrysler Caravans made in Windsor-Ontario-Canada, are fantastic people-tires-tools-plywood-groceries-friend moving day-day at the beach-cottage-vacations to USA-extended family-even ...even...compost(wife almost left me-(1 full day to steam and clean later). Building and selling 30 Years going. Number 1 selling mini-van Hundreds of Thousands can't be wrong. Canada CVP off the lot 22K all in beat that.5 years no issues.10 on my previous even sold it off for $600 he took it for the engine??? For the money will the Honda last 20 years, if it does, do your really want it to last 20 years....for stains...odours...fit...and repairs.Do the math over 20 years of repairs..$$$$$$ Remember repairs over the lifetime of a vehicle will always be more expensive than a replacement. I bought a '16 Grand Caravan SXT premium plus for 44k plus tax. I love everything about it, the engine is smooth and powerful, great on fuel and dependable. The kids have a DVD player for long (or short) trips to keep them entertained. It's white with the granite alloy wheels which looks really good lol I've put 36,000kms on it so far with zero issues.

2015 Grand Caravan and got it with al the features I wanted/needed minus a compass(I didn't want to spend the extra just for a digital compass). I love it. I enjoy driving it, especially on long trips and glad I made the purchase. The new Pacifica, while nice, I don't think I like the design that much. But the interior is very nice. Loving the sporty look of the GC, for a minivan it looks clean, simple, nice, IMO.

I bought mine brand new in 2019 SXT premium plus. A fantastic van, seats 7, seats are all stow n go, has a DVD player, heated seats, remote starter, leather seats. Etc. There’s soo much it offers for the price that no other van offers. Honestly Honda and Toyota are overly hyped and priced.

I have a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica with 110 thousand miles and it already has Camshaft sensor problems, the bad thing that the mechanics can't fix it because it has so many senors and they need sophisticated equipment I went to the dealer and they gave me an appointment for 15 days because they are full 🤦‍♂️ I recommend the Dodge grand caravan, the parts are easily found, they don't have as many sensors and the mechanics fix it easily. 👍

I recently went shopping for new minivan , and looked at the Sedona and Grand Caravan. The Grand Caravan was $45.000CDN and the Sedona was $34.000CDN with comparable features. The Caravan was knocked down to $35.000CDN for year end incentives. It did not take much reaserch to end up buying the KIA. I wonder if Chrysler was able to overcome the transmission issues related to Dodge Caravan ?

The Grand Caravan is the better van, they should have just kept building the Town and country which was the same van just more fancier options. The Pacifica is ugly. The Grand caravan is so versatile even if you don't have a family . I love mine . With stow and ago seats I can easily haul my historic displays, music equipment when I am gigging. Haul trays of bread for the VFW. and can open the floor up and bingo have seats again to haul people when needed with out having to lift and pull out seats like you do with the Honda,toyota, kia vans. Many are used as taxis, corporate vehicles ,delivery etc. even the U.S. Postal service has some. The ride is better than most cars on the market today. I am 6ft 2 tall and 250 1bs and ride very comfortably in the Grand Caravan have owned a 1993.2008, and currently a 2013. I say you cant go wrong with one. The only minivan I like. Didn't like the 1996-07 caravans though hated that egg shape.

If I spent $60,000 on a Pacifica, and it only lasted 20,000 miles is several here in the Detroit area before the transmission is having issues, mostly because they put a 9 speed transmission in that doesn't have enough clutch plates to actually do the job. I'd be really tempted to Ram it up the company presidents ass. Put a 4-speed transmission with an Overdrive. The 3.6 is more than capable of getting the same fuel mileage regardless of which of those two Transmissions is in it.

The Pacifica needs the gear - / gear + buttons on the steering wheel like RAM trucks. Not being able to manually shift the transmission is a deal breaker. I'll stick with the GC.

Pacifica is design more as a shuttle with commercial applications hense the luxury feel. I still can't get over the fact that they let the gear shift melt into an electronic knob. Totally wrong.

Yes, absolutely. My 2011 GC right now has ten sheets of 4x8ft. insulation board in it with rear gate closed, just back from Lowe's. Operating the Stow and Go seats is fast and a snap.

I prefer a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica as my future van. 3 Reasons: 1) A very luxury, reliable and affordable van that gets me around where I want/need to be. 2) I can carry many passengers and carry a lot of stuff with me. 3) Really decent on gas and better mileage. I agree but the problem for me is NEVER buy a first or even second year run of a new car/model. Let them iron out the bugs first if possible, of which they have already had some but that's with cars in general I know. I Personally I prefer the overall design of the Caravan but I do like the interior design of the Pacifica more.

I had a similar issue with my 2005 Grand Caravan SXT and it's replacement, a 2012 GC R/T. The 2005 SXT seats were cloth and Very comfortable. I did many 2000 + mile trips with nary an issue. The 2012 R/T had leather and was uncomfortable after 2 hours of driving. I traded the R/T for a 2017 Pacifica Limited and I'm back with comfortable seats again.

Sophisticated, nice looking, modern, better driving, pretty, more features. vs Same practicality and uglier with basically the same platform. WHICH ONE IS YOUR STYLE? Are you willing to pay more? The Grand Caravan is the ONLY UBER Value package van, with a powerful V6 (the same one that powers the more powerful full size RAM Promaster) that more people can afford and therefore it has staying power. Having said that, it is NOT sophisticated and feels cheap when compared to the Pacifica, Toyota's Sienna, Honda Odyssey or the Korean Offerings.

i got the 2010 dodge caravan with the 3.3 engine and 4 speed auto lots of room for techs to work on the engine and simple transmission only problem BRAKES very bad!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2013 FCA finally updated the brakes all round with bigger rotors and 2 piston calipers !!!! Also updated Engine with 270 HP ( Very tight Engine Bay ) hard to change plugs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who would Spend $60k on a Minivan ??????????????? Would get a F150 for that price !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know what you`re thinking, but i have talked with 2 people whose Grand Caravans went to 300k or more miles, also trouble free, before they got rid of them. Although i don`t believe in 'riding my equipment hard & putting it up wet,' the first 50k on her were HARD miles, encompassing hauling TONS of items from homes to storage facilities, several times over, while also criss-crossing the country in between. She has never let me down. But i maintain her the Old School Way: by the book. Jeny is also RUST FREE & garage kept. Good Luck with your GT Caravan !

Kia is really out-dated, and not great for long lasting either. Pacifica is getting 5 out of 5 stars everywhere, getting awards all years. Kia got none.

I looked at the Kia but being 6' 9", it just didn't have the room for me. And I am not a fan of the Honda's overall look/style. And the Sto N Go is a Amazingly convenient/nice feature that I use often. It is a huge reason of why I went with Dodge/Chrysler.

The caravan and tnc are classics,I don’t know why they replaced with the stupid Pacifica 😢😢😢😢😢
