Most of the Stormcast do strike down on to the battlefield riding the lightning. Annihilators are different as they get a run up and charge through a rift of crackling lightning at full speed, hence the re-roll charge on the turn they arrive.

I'm starting a Kruleboy army at the moment. I was always more a fan of 40k and avoided Wh Fantasy but the AoS models (especially the sneaky looking kruleboyz) really did it for me.

Love the city terrain! Both armies are pretty fluffy (vs min maxed power builds) so it's harder to guess who might win than in some other recent games :)

Scare tactics only works against the gutrippaz who made the roll, not other friendly units. Around 1:05:00 Mathew makes the vindictors minus 1 to hit against gobsprak and the shaman and that shouldn’t be. They were only minus one to hit against those kruleboyz, which they didn’t charge.

I have the Sormcasts from the soul wars box, and the most recent start collecting thing. All told, a hodgepodge of small units with loads of infantry. Kinda crazy to think that it is, in fact, the same army that can field mass dragons. Quite the range they have!

At 27:15 the stormcast roll 8 dice for the starsoul maces attacks. But I could only see 4 maces on the table in that unit and I thought they had one attack per mace?

I liked the list Luka brought, but why put the tome on the Incantor instead if a different hero? If it goes on a hero that isn't already a Wizard, they get to unbind, on a wizard you get 2 casts, but no extra unbind.

Good Game, It was really nice to see Luka being more considerate of his movements and tactics. Seeing him grow tactically has been great. I do think the Stormcast should be able to do something to make the MWs work on 5+ like once a game per unit or for Heroes or somethin'.

At minute 37:00 you can't end a pile in move more distant from the nearest enemy, so you couldn t escape and put everything to the right side and 3" away

In 3.0 it's nearest enemy 'unit' rather than model so you can do this.

@@andreabentivoglio764 He piled in along the unit he was closest to, ending further away from a unit he was NOT closest to. That is perfectly fine. Unless the one back guy was slightly closer to the character rather than the unit, but measuring that via a youtube video isn't something I'd wager.

When you make a pile-in move with a model, it must finish the move no further from the nearest enemy unit than it was at the start of the move." So he couldn't get away like that cause you have to see every model of the Gutrippaz not as a unit but as a single model when you pile-in

@@andreabentivoglio764 No, in 3rd edition the pile in is to the closest UNIT, not the closest MODEL. The move is perfectly legal, as we've explained. You do not treat every model as a unit.

I managed to confuse myself, as I thought it was Miniwargaming Matt playing a visiting person, but then I was thinking "My gosh, he could be Luka's brother, he is even wearing a poker t-shirt, and he even sounds a bit like Luka. By the end of turn 2, I realised that actually was Luka 🤦🏻‍♂️ enjoyable battle all together with the Luka look-alike, called Luka 😂😂😂

To go off your conversation after the game, here are some summaries of current tournament lists for these: Stormcast are one of the top factions currently. Popular lists often focus on dragons, but there are also some annhilator builds doing well. Liberators or vindictors are both good as troops, you see a fair bit of variety outside the "standard" dragon list of roughly a lord draconis, lord relictor, 4 dragons, 6 longstrikes, 2x5 liberators. Basically every list runs a shooting block though, usually longstrikes and sometimes judicators. Paladins do get some play. Kruelboyz however are currently the worst faction in the game with a 30% winrate. The rare list that shows up is usually a bunch of boltboyz, sludgeraker, shaman, and some hobgrots to screen along with either Kragnos or Gobsprakk + the troll. Sometimes you get one unit of gutrippaz instead of the hobgrots, and I did see someone recently do okay by dropping the shaman to run a killaboss on gnashtoof alongside kragnos, sludgeraker, 10 gutrippaz and 5x3 boltboyz.

@@Omejinn Honest Warhammer stat centre, that is from the data for tournaments since the release of the IDK book. The specific lists just come from looking up winning tournament lists each week.

I think the Gutrippaz have to be 3 inch away from all enemies to use scare tactics and it only counts for attacks targeting them - probably doesn't work on heroes either.

did they fix the mortal wound rule. it is army wide at 6+ but thunderstrike is on a 5+ there should have been several mortal wounds

Thuderstrike lets you roll 1 additional die to the roll for each model, it doesn't improve your roll from a 6+ to a 5+.

The rule is that "companions" and "crew" are treated as "mounts" and mounts don't get venom encrusted weapons, so the pot grot or stab grot don't get it.

It's more the lack of a big ranged unit that hurts; there have actually been quite a few 4-1 tournament lists lately running annhilators without dragons.
