Notice the unity amongst the singers. There appears to be no competition! And they felt what they were singing and did not try to outsing each other. They just sang together as one. Where has that gone today!

This is awesome! Brings back so many memories of my visits to the Melpomene Street Baptist Church in the early '50s. As a young white boy - I was thrilled to see and hear this kind of spiritual singing. Altho I'm now 71, I'm still blessed deeply by the Spirit of the Holy One as I listen. God Bless you for posting this great song.

I love Billie's ability to sing in whatever range she wants (kinda like Dorinda Clark has). She knows how to sing top like a soprano, alto like an alto, and her bottom range is RIDICULOUS. Love her!

I am about to have "da big one" listening to this classic song. In the words of Hezekiah Walker " We don't praise Him like this no more." Thank you elder for posting this. I think I will teach this to my choir next week. Its time for the CHOIR to be the CHOIR again, and sing songs everyone can relate to. This is one of them. One look @ Christ still brings salvation.

I love this type of gospel music ❤️ This is music of a people before the ills of the world seeped into every fiber of pure behavior. It’s still in us. We must get real again and put God back in our hearts❤️ Jesus never left us. He has promised to defend us only a 👀 look ... He’s still merciful and True! 🙌🏾

Delois Barrett Campbell and her sisters were so gifted. Their style of singing is no longer appreciated as much as it once was, but for their time, they were pretty awesome. And their passion for their music and ministry is still seen in the like of some of today's gospel artists like CeCe Winans and Yolanda Adams.

BEAUTIFUL 🙌🏾🙌🏾So grateful to have grown up in an era....when we had " Devotion" the Deacons would pray on their knees/ Our choir and other choirs( depending on which Sunday it was....1st 2nd and so on) would march down the middle aisle up to the choir stand.... we would also have/ sing Congregational Songs.... as well as an A and B selection by the choir....anyone remember those days? We had " Church" back then at St.Paul Missionary Baptist Church....things sure have changed in Churches today....sign of the times,I guess. Peace and Blessings to All 🙏🏿🙏🏿 2/2022

Gospel Music is more than a message - although the message is very important. Gospel is also a particular traditional musical form - a classic genre - a magnificent musical achievement of the spirit. It must not be lost just to "get modern"! This is real Gospel Music.

Thank you Elder Rodgers. This brought tears to my eyes. I want "Only A Look". I felt the anointing of the Holy Ghost. This was History singing about His-Story. Once again, thank you and have a beautiful Sunday. Please keep Rev. Andrae Crouch in prayer.
