What a stunningly brilliant singer songwright, frontman, wild bandolero my cousin Willie was. Willie reminded me a lot of the very great Phil Lynott also Earl Flynn. What a brilliant band Mink DeVile was, I was very lucky to have got to see Mink DeVille live several times once with Doctor Feelgood, A night never forget if I lived 10 lifetimes

I remember very clearly the first time I ever heard this song. It was in an episode of a Canadian TV series and immediately grabbed my attention. I had to figure out who this group was and where they were my whole life that I didn’t know about them. The ultimate definition of cool - Mink DeVille. Rock on in our hearts. 💕 If I’m not mistaken this is where I first encountered a dobro type of guitar also - makes a unique sound. It isn’t present in this performance but definitely is in the recording I heard.

Saw Mink DeVille here in the UK in 1977 (was it really that long ago?) could never understand how they weren't bigger. Listening to "Cabretta" it makes me wonder how an album recorded in 1977 can, in 2010, sound so fresh, so contemporary - how is that even possible? Still listen to Mink DeVille, and all Willy's stuff- there is an online petition to get Willy DeVille inducted into the RnR Hall of Fame, hope everyone signs it, Willy deserves it. Thanks for posting.

Bryant Devenshire wasn't born till 78 ! AND I LOVE this dude! No word of a lie he is obviously off his face, but it takes nothing from the tune, my personal preference is as willy de ville, by Agnes ? Not sure who she is but has up loaded loads, along with my first encounter of willy with storybook love, after googling one of my favourite songs good old KZbin enlightened me with a million other willy beauties xxx I'm now addicted to his music xx live on willy xxx

- Jack Nitzsche brought Tommy in to replace Manfred Jones on "Return To Magenta". When Tommy arrived in the studio, Mink DeVille was playing and Tommy listened to Manfred for a few minutes and then turned to Jack and asked, "What am I doing here?" Listen to the HIT version of this great song (on the album, CABRETTA) and you'll understand what I'm saying.
