Yes, it's true that you can get these very same variations in the Palmer-Hughes book ten, note for note. What's weird here is this Russian lasky playing an American transcription of an old Ukranian theme written by a Russian bayanist, on a Pigini PIANO accordion. If you want the real MacKoy try Yuri Kazakov (three-row Moscow bayan built in the fifties- NOTHING comes close to it). Then listen to the modern young Aleksander Sevastian.

Faktycznie mistrz akordeonu i świetnie zagrana "Minka", choć i tak najlepiej ten utwór brzmi w wersji jazzowej, dixielandowej - na trąbce. Wtedy nawet nie da się w tym rozpoznać rosyjskiej melodii - a na akordeonie od razu to słychać.
