You can use either one. Glue is Roxanne Glue Baste It.

HP is great for straight stitching. That’s why. I use 1/4” foot

No. It’s a washable glue.

Are the zippers metal or nylon? You go over them so easily on your sewing machine, I'd be fearful I'd break a needle.
