Sam. I grew up fishing that same spot you were. For 15 years. We had a family cabin west of there on the north shore of the lake. Caught a lot of walleyes over the years. I’ve heard the like and bass have taken over. But apparently a few walleyes left.

Loved your fish slippers. At least they weren't Smurf slippers. I grew up in Winner South Dakota. The pheasant capitol of the world. I live in Spokane Washington now. I fish for walleye in Lake Roosevelt part of the Columbia River. Our limit for Walleye is 16 fish any size

I guess Pike have fine y shaped bones that you have to know how to get rid of I understand. Also they are somewhat slimey that if you put them into a mixture of vinegar and water you can wipe off the concealed mucus. I always wanted to catch northern pike
