Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara says his department is short more than 200 officers, one of many cities facing officer shortages nationwide. But in Minneapolis, the hurdle is more than just manpower, it is trust too, nearly four years after the murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer. Scott MacFarlane has more.

Wild to think crime would continue to sky rocket after George Floyd. There have been so many activists and lawmakers lobbying for b.s. crime ridden rhetoric keeping criminals out of jail, lessening the price of crime and justice, and overall creating a toxic culture surrounding the police. Minneapolis, Chicago, L.A. you're seeing it everywhere and mainly in Democratic cities. People better start thinking about real world problems and stop worrying about the police being a little rough. That job isn't what it use to be and is far from the desired job that once was inspired by many. Because many police departments across the United States defended these misfits who violated the citizens' rights and fail to properly police their ranks of these misfits. Too much police brutality, misconduct, and crimes committed under "color of law"' was ignored, covered up, and tolerated by police brass, prosecutors, and judges for multiple decades when it came to people who had no business being the police. Especially when the victims were persons of color. Those officers should've been appropriately disciplined, and in some cases fired. They made it tougher for the decent officers in the "rank and file." That's where the profession is today. Officers trying to do their jobs while still wearing the shame of criminals and misfits with badges who came before them. What happened after the Rodney King beating, to the killing of George Floyd was decades of frustration and anger against a system that condoned, and in some cases even encouraged this behavior by law enforcement. That much social unrest should've been a wake up call for every law enforcement supervisor, prosecutor, judge, and members of local government. it didn't just materialize out of "thin air."
