Great video. Meadow is awesome. She’s a great ambassador for the rough grouse society. And an inspiration to young girls and women who want to hunt

Travis, gotta tell ya, this is EXACTLY where I grew up (a large cattle ranch about 20 miles due east of Norris Camp) and we had a resort on the Rainey River where i fished. This is AMAZING to see how the birds and fish are still thriving up in God's Country (I'm in FL now!). Thanks for bringing back the memories. One thing though, i shot more 'Partridge' (Spruce grouse) with a .22 on the ground than i ever did with a shotgun. No dog either.

Great dog work on the Spruce Grouse, amazing air scenting and pointing the birds high up the trees, thank you.

Travis, great show like always. Really glad the Flush is back on KZbin as I don't have cable or satellite. I would be glad to pay for the show on iTunes if that ever becomes available. Also, hope to see more of Meadow.

Is that hawk screech on the collar when the dog goes on point? If so, is that to get the bird to react a certain way or just a more interesting option than a beep?
@UplandJitsucom5 жыл бұрын
It gets the bird to hold tight....

where in Minnesota are the best grouse hunting areas located? Near what towns?
@lukehemmila11915 жыл бұрын
First off as someone who has hunted grouse in MN for years I just want to clarify something. Spruce grouse are the easiest thing to hunt. These stupid birds will stand still for you and maybe move a couple feet if you miss. Their only defense against predators is the fact that they taste like garbage. See video for typical spruce grouse encounter. kzbin.info/www/bejne/laicdYiJp6eGhqc

Cool episode, but I sure hate to see a dog working with a flank collar....spend some more time training and that isn’t necessary.
