I used to feel this way about his segments too, until I realized his value is not bringing scoops as much as just confirmation of rumors an stories based on his background conversations with team insiders. So the real issue is the segment should be called Doogie's rumor mill or scuttlebutt or something like that, rather than "scoops" which creates unmet expectation. Poor expectation management

Seeing Rob play the last couple of weeks, I think the Wolves would have won a few more games in early January if Minnesota could have had a PG on the floor for 48 minutes. There were some games when Conley was on the bench and the Wolves played like garbage. Doogie's point about playing short-handed teams is overblown. The Wolves have missed important guys too.

Rockets are 4th ranked defense this season. Wolves are 6th ranked. Rockets are not some stud defense that the Wolves are not in the same realm as. There are some bad narratives floating out there based on the Rockets record. In January, Rockets are 22nd ranked defense in 13 games played. In January Timberwolves are 8th ranked defense in 14 games played. Rockets are slowly but surely in regression mode. Sengun and Green are still huge liabilities on defense. Only real liability wolves have is dilly. And he barely plays. And based on what i have seen from him, he is better than Jalen Green on D.

Yes he is a spark off the bench and thats what his job is. But Conley is clearly the best option to start. If you want to listen to actual analysis of the games watch dane moores podcast because these dudes are box score watchers.
