I was at the game and props to all the Vikings fans who showed up because the Vikings contingency was easily the majority of the crowd. In the upper level (where I was) it was probably 5:1 Vikings fans. Sam played well and really turned some lemons into lemonade, especially in the first half. DL and LB's played great. Our secondary was shaky and benefited from a QB that wasn't seeing the field well, and the OL's play was...regrettable. Zebras negated some big Titans plays. Not a picturesque game, but a win is always enjoyable.

@@ronaldgilson4999 Well, I was in the stadium so I think you should ask yourself the same question. I didn't say he was great, but 20-32 for 246, 2 TD's and no picks is a solid game. One bomb TD was dropped by Nailor, and the OL was getting wrecked on too many plays. Receivers weren't creating separation and getting open easily. Run game was garbage. He didn't get much help today. Sam's had some bad games but today wasn't one of them.

Take away the 98 yard blown coverage and this is another blowout. Idk why everyone is so in their feelings. We were supposed to finish last in the division and here we are basically a lock for a playoff spot with Sam Darnold at QB.

Most of the time ppl get irritated about the vikings performance is because its clear they could have done better. For one I saw way too many blown coverages downfield and too many execution mistakes on offense. By all rights on offense we have the talent to put up 40+ like the Lions do on bad opponents.

As Upperlip pointed out, the 98 yard TD given up but ALSO...the Jalen Nailor DROP of a 46-yard TD Pass from Darnold. 30-6 should've been the final but sh*t happens so we got a closer score than it needed to be. What is MOST encouraging, though, is Sam Darnold was NYJ Sam Darnold last week...and he (along with I assume KOC's coaching leading up to this game) was NOT that guy this week. What we saw was closer to the Sam Darnold of the first 4 weeks of the season.

@@oel734 i get what youre saying but good teams intercept a pass on the goal line in the superbowl (pats n seahawks) and bad teams let the first snap of the game sail 10 yards past the qb in the superbowl (broncos n seahawks). This is oversimplified obviously, but those little misfires DO matter when its equal competition and high stakes. Im not the biggest proponent of the theory that only a handful of plays matter, but a blown coverage for a 98 yard touchdown on 3rd down isnt something small to brush off, thats the difference between winning and losing the most important games. Beyond that if youre allowing massive chunk gains after chunk gains to a very poor qb that is cause for concern when it is a GOOD qb and each chunk is a nail in the coffin.

I know Dalton Risner played well because I didn't even notice the Right Guard position until Risner and Bradberry got steamrolled by two or three giant DTs of the Titans in the 3rd quarter. Keep up the incognito! Sammy Darnold definitely played better today. Seemed under control. Some really good throws, and no throws that made no sense at all. Plus, he was getting rid of the ball, on average, much sooner than in the last few weeks. No more cup of coffee back there. They must have worked on speeding up his reads and decisions. I hope they keep working on that. Darnold plays best when he plays up-tempo and fast. As for piling up points, I expect a gradual increase, not a three-TD jump. Darnold is starting for a good team for the first time, so he's a lot like a rookie in his reads, timing and chemistry. But he's a really, really talented "rookie." He will still have some dips in performance, but his increasing familiarity with all his weapons will keep his lows from getting too miserable. He has yet to explore his connections with Hockenson and Nailor, and he's just discovering Powell and Sherfield, both of whom should help on 3rd downs. Don't be terribly surprised if some of his receivers get a bit more love in the coming weeks.

Overall it was a good performance for the Vikings. Offense was efficient and limited mistakes. Defense was dominant. 3 fluke plays kept it from being a blowout. The dropped toss from Jones, the 98 yard blown coverage TD, and the drop by Nailor in the endzone.

Judd yes KOC called a good game and yes if he calls a prefect game we will win 100% of our games I have no doubt but he hasn't always called perfect games and this team has shown a lack of adjustments as well as being highly prone to mistakes whether it be stupid penalties, turnovers, delay of games, at times lack of adjustments and not the least of which situational awareness these are all symptoms of a HC/OC/Play Caller with way too much on his plate during a game. So yes I will double down on my desire for KOC to develop a good young play calling OC so he can just focus on the entire game.

Why does Mackay, who is full of doubts and fears, which is sad, not get it? We already played a lot better and some where already dreaming about a 17-0.... I believed in Darnold, but I noticed the decline in play system after Green Bay, which goes on KOC for the most part. Now the same are satisfied with a just get to the play off season, enjoy the ride. Oh lord, but then dont be surprised if we lose at Arizona by 10 in the WC. This year we actually have a chance to go deep, but it TAKES ALL OF THE TEAM, from Nailor to Risner. And all the coaches, too. I agree, I still have not a good feeling, when we meet good teams. E.g. at the Bears next weekend. This will be a loss, if we dont improve on offense. And yes, me too I was disappointed we kneeled with 30 seconds left. Here is the actual problem with KOC calling the plays: He’s the head coach and has other duties than calling plays. He may be the best play caller in the world, but if he is not doing what a head coach should do during the game because you he is calling plays, he should be the offensive coordinator and should work for a head coach. From what I can tell looking at him from the public, he does awesome at his head coach duties. He should get someone else he trusts to call plays if he wants to be a head coach.

Just to add about KOC... 1. I realize that this year has been deemed "a throw away year" or that "we are playing with house money" year, but it's also a crazy possibility we do things this year. I watched an insanely crappy Eli Manning Giants team win it all going into the playoffs at 8-8. 2. I think we need to look BEYOND the ceiling that maybe darnold is at, and look at what maybe KOC can do. He NEEDS to tighten up on clock management, he needs to stop calling run plays literally every 1st down, he needs to be agressive before halftime. I don't care what you say, but if the Lions were up 16-3 and had 30 seconds on the clock, they'd heave a couple passes downfield to at LEAST give JPR a chance. Going up by 16 or more at half would have been even better. I KNOW, I KNOW..."blah blah blah we aren't the Lions". I know we aren't...because that is because KOC is soft/conservative. We got the ball at half. Double up something. ANYTHING to show you want to try and put your foot on their throats. 3. Everything in that game looked pretty dang good except for our CB's and safeties getting fricking DUSTED. I don't know if it was a mix-up in play calling by Flores or what...but YIKES. 4. KOC NEEDS to work on ball-handling drills this week. Going into Chicago after they way they lost vs the pack is gonna be a rough one.
