One question for you. Do these turkeys actually get to go OUTSIDE??

vegasguy10 Usually no, these birds get processed at 13-21 weeks old. So they’re still very young. When They’re pults (babies) they really can’t maintain they’re own heat so being in a brood barn is the best way to keep them healthy and warm. When they get market size, which is 13-21 weeks according to the video. They need to maintain bio security. Letting them free range can bring in potential diseases and predators threats. If you see them, they act as they would out side. They can scratch, dustbath, run around and jump. So what’s the point of going outside.

I'm not in the Turkey business nor I own a pet, but I do recognized the importance of this video. Well produced and a very nice educational presentation. The birds seems to be content and happy. Can you imagine if you let these birds outside free ranging for a short period of time in a daily basis? I know that it will be concerns, but the birds in turn will be grateful and smiling. Thank you.
