Yeah his lyrics dont make too much sense when they're being directly translated to English because almost every word he uses is a metaphor or a word game in korean.

Mino is from the group WINNER and also has solo work. Zico is from the block b but he also a solo both of them are successful in both their solo and group activities. Both ( and BOBBY whom you already react to, that is in the group iKon) are known for being the only respected kpop rappers in both the rap underground industry and Kpop. They’re really good especially Zico that is an excellent lyricist and producer. I didn’t even know you knew what show me the money lol such a shame it’s on patreon but enjoy these, this is such a good show. BOBBY is the only idol that won that program I think it was during season 3 ( that program because bigger during and after this season) and MINO almost won the 4th season but I heard people were kinda talking because both were from the same label so mino didn’t win. Zico was a judge and not a contestant for several seasons, even tho they have around the same age, ZICO is very proheminent also in the underground as I said so he always had the legitness to be a judge. You will see that a lot of artists that are popular in the rap scene went to compete in SMTM some were already known and some became known after. Like there’s some H1GHER/ AOMG artists that competed in the early seasons. My fav time goat winning is Bobby and BeWhy that won the 6th season if I recall.

Zico debuted with Block B because he wanted to make it big. Ever since middle school he started his path as an underground rapper and made his little fan base on SoundCloud, but he knew that it's not enough so he joined Block B 10 years ago and he's the leader as well. The thing is that especially back then there was a huge stigma against rappers that were also kpop idols, krappers would look down on them, straight up ridicule them and not accept them etc. Despite all that Zico did everything he could to keep his identity as both an idol and a rapper (and that is something he is referring to in this song as well as many others) and he even started his own company named KOZ to prove everyone wrong. He made friends with many big artists such as Dean, Penomeco, Crush etc and created Fanxy Child. He has produced most of the music for BlockB from the beginning and he made many of his own albums at the same time, as well as working for other labels. You could say he made an impact on korean music as a whole for more than 10 years now and he still keeps staying relevant.

Oh yeah and he wasn't a part of a big company in the beginning which brought him and Block B many issues, but he did everything in his power to build himself up to the level he is now. This is also something he refers to a lot in his songs, especially how much pain and struggle this road of fame brought him that he wasn't expecting since he was so young.

Zico and a few of his friends, including Mino, were some of the first idol rappers to bring some legitimacy to the title. Khip hop was very separated from kpop for decades so a lot of rappers from the khh community really looked down on kpop rappers, and honestly for good reason. Companies would just choose a member to be a rapper even if they had no real talent in it or passion for it. Zico, Mino, Park Kyung, RM and a handful of others started as underground rappers that then debuted in kpop groups. Because of that all of these newer groups that have amazing rappers out of the gate are flourishing and there isn't quite as much of a stigma around idol rappers.

ZICO is one of the TOP rappers for sure, he is very well known and just very versitile. MINO and Zico came up in the undergroud khiphop scene together, MINO was very popular and was training with Zico to become Block B. Mino due to personal reasons eneded up not debuting with Zico it's a complicated story if you search for it on YT there are a lot of clips when they reunite after some time. Anyways. Please show both of them more love and reactions. Watch SMTM4... Zico was a producer and MINO was on his team as a contestant. Mino is known for his word play and double meaning and sometimes the translations don't do it justice at all. Mino is main rapper for WINNER and had a subunit MOBB with Bobby from iKON. There are only three idol rappers who are recognized by both the public and the hiphop underground scene. They are ZICO from BLOCK B, MINO from WINNER, and BOBBY from IKON. Originally, MINO was one of the original members who will debut as BLOCK B together with ZICO but due to personal reasons MINO left the group before debut and after how many years he debuted as the main rapper of WINNER. BOBBY and MINO are both under YG Entertainment so the swag unit MOBB was created. Check out their banger songs, "Full House" and "Hit Me". I love ZICO and BOBBY but I am a huge fan of MINO. He is known for his witty wordplay, melodic rap, and his unorthodox flow. He already produced 2 solo full albums and both albums are chart toppers so I would really appreciate it if you get to know him more. ZICO is not the only great rapper/producer in Korea, there is also another king called MINO 👑😎 Check out some of his most famous songs. "Fiance", "Body", "Run Away", and "Trigger" You should watch MINO's Dingo Killing Verse and you will know how playful he is with his music. Please check out also his group, WINNER. I admit that I was a little disappointed with your reaction to "So so" because the message of the song and video is so in your face but you still did not get it. yeah Zico is one of the best rapper!! He is a rapper, record producer, songwriter and a singer. He is the leader of Block B almost all of their songs are produced by Zico and also produced songs for other artist like 2ya2yao of Super Junior. He formed Fanxy Child in 2016. He is the 1st youngest producer/judge in Show me the Money 4 and in Show me the Money 6 together with Dean they became the winner in that season. Please try Fear. Fear is the song they've worked on that's most meaningful to them both, even if it might not technically be the best song either of them has released. Zico has told mino on his radio show that Fear is the one song he produced that, if given another chance, he would not give to anyone else. he said that no matter how hard he tried, he can't make another song like that again. To which mino replied that he would fight him over it. As for Mino, i don't think he has performed it again the way he did at the smtm semi-finals. It's very special in the sense that when Mino was in smtm, he was receiving so much hate. Some of them right to his face, which is something unthinkable in other kpop stars who are coddled and rabidly defended by their fans for every little thing that looks remotely like criticism. When he performed Fear at the semi-finals, he got so much more hate for bringing in his mentor, who happened to be a superstar (taeyang of bigbang) from his company, to feature in the song. Never mind that one of the other contestants' main reason for surviving that far in the show is the shady last minute exchange of contestants by his producer and his constant smear campaign against mino, all the time suggesting that he's gonna win anyway because of his company and undermining his talent. Years later, Fear is still one of the most iconic songs of the entire show me the money franchise, he is a household name because of his music and tv variety shows, and his paintings are in exhibits even overseas. On the other hand, the guy who led the hate campaign against him was convicted of a sexual harassment case filed by a female rapper. Zico is also no stranger to hate so of course he understood what mino was going through and he tried to protect him (along with the other producer in their team, palo alto) as much as he can. he's had experience with suicide petitions filed against him and his group because of some scandal caused by stupid mistranslations. mino's best friend and zico's bandmate PO even got hospitalized because of it. the only other kpop star i know of who's gotten suicide petitions was G-Dragon. Bobby received a lot of prejudice against him in his smtm season too but not as much as mino did and while he proved them wrong in the end, him winning the previous season was one of the foundations of the hate mino received. because how dare these pretty kpop boys try to take what belongs to the 'real' rappers. A lot of people have been dropping other names in the comments and while they can claim that their faves are the best and they might even be right, greatness comes from experiences Mino, Zico and others who went through and faced the same kind of adversity. Zico has been Mino's friend/older brother/mentor in one and they've been together since their underground days. He probably helped mold Mino into the rapper that he is. When Mino's parents refused to sign the contract with Block B's former agency and they saw each other again for the first time at a show, Zico cried when he realized that they were in different groups and mino ended up in a ballad group (which was also a terrible experience) when he lived and breathed hiphop when they were teenagers and they both had the same dreams. Despite all the shit that happened on smtm4, Turtleship, Moneyflow, Okey Dokey and Fear showed everyone what it looks like when mino and zico work together.
