LewAllen Galleries is pleased to present a legacy of artmaking rarely seen in the modern day, contemporary art world. The works of Minol Araki are paintings in ink and colors on paper made in the Chinese-Japanese “Literati” tradition, originally painted by the artist completely independent of the world of commerce and entirely for their own sake.
Now, 14 years after his death and with his works included in the permanent collections of more than 20 important American and international museums, LewAllen Galleries is honored to be able to present paintings available for private acquisition.
Art historian and independent scholar, Bonnie Lee, unpacks the life and extraordinary work of this unique artist and his remarkable accomplishment in the “literati” tradition that he pursued throughout his very successful life.
