Drill setup: Drill can be done anywhere o ntheice, on this day we did it in the NZ. Players were instructed they COULD NOT cross either Blueline.
Coach was on one side of the ice with pucks. All the players were on the opposite side of the ice against the boards.
1st progression: Coach spots a puck for the first player in line. First player in lines job is to get the puck, and get it back to the next player in line as quickly as they can, working on shoulder checking, protecting the puck and using fakes to avoid the forechecekrs pressure.
At the same time, the 2nd player in line is playing 100& defence and trying to steal the puck from the 1st player.
2nd Progression: Exact same setup, but now there are 2 forecheckers and 2 offensive players. The offensive players job is to get the puck back to the next player in line anyway they can, they can use each other but don't have too.
Defensive players are forechecking 100% and trying to stop the offensive players from getting the puck back to the next player in line. On this day we had the 2 defensive players turn their sticks upside down(optional)
