A lot of movies have tried to warn us. No one listens. @@sports872 Off the top of my head: - Idiocracy (pretty much a documentary at this point) - 1984 - The Giver - The Matrix - Conspiracy Theory (self explanatory, lol) - Eyes Wide Shut (this one is more a telling of the real darkness of Hollywood/the elites in general...and the director died shortly after its release, go figure) - I, Robot - American Psycho - Mr. Robot series - Black Mirror series (this one is crazy scary as many of those episodes are either already mirroring real life or will be shortly heading that way in the near future.) - Dredd - Hunger Games (the elites of the Capitol pretty much matches modern day Met Gala, which is compromised of snobby elites/over paid celebrities) - The Truman Show - Wall-E (probably why it wasn't advertised as heavily as pretty much every other major Disney/Pixar film) - The Purge (will we get to that exact point? Unsure. But they'll always find ways to "purge" the lower class in other ways, regardless of race or creed) Anyway, that's just what I can come up with in 5 min, but there are tons more that I'm sure I'll think of later or haven't seen yet to be able to recommend. He gets arrested for capital murder based on what the algorithm THINKS he is going to do, not necessarily what he PLANNED to do.

It is an anime so it might not be for everyone, but if you love minority report, I guarantee you will absolutely fall in love with Psycho Pass. Essentially it's about a dystopian society in the future where every person has a "crime coefficient". When it reaches certain thresholds, the police step in and either arrest you, bring you into an institution to get the coefficient down, or if it's too high they may even be allowed to shoot you on the spot. I won't say anymore as to avoid spoilers but believe me it is easily in the top 10 shows that I've ever watched (at least season 1 is, season 2 sucks), and it is so crazy to think how close we are to this becoming a reality.

Thanks for refreshing my memory of this great film. You’re absolutely right most of the predictions in it have now become true. I think the major premise of the film that paranormals will be able to prevent most crimes by predicting the future isn’t very plausible, nor do I think determinism’s denial of the concept of responsibility means there won’t be the necessity to still punish criminals. Also there are philosophers like the late Daniel Dennett who believed the concepts of determinism and free will aren’t really incompatible. But otherwise minority report reaffirms Spielberg’s reputation as a great film maker and the way he used an old Philip K. Dick story as his launching pad for the movie was like turning a wright brothers biplane into a jet fighter. ⚛️

Minority Report is a good movie, but not so much thanks to Tom Cruise as his character/role could have been done by a bunch of better actors at the time. Most good movies Cruise been in are all roles that could been done just as good or better because Cruise is role-wise very limited, self-centered and not a very fexible actor with other tallents on same scenes his character is in = reason why near ALL his movie scenes are just with him. And the narcisistic and egotistic sides of Cruise shines through, making him not genuine. In this movie for ex. I would rather have had Gerard Butler, Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Thomas Jane or Liam Neeson for some examples.

I have always thought about this, and there for sure is enough information collected on people, I can see how people would want to start using that info to prosecute people. Maybe why so many people are open about their sexuality now, is people realize privacy is going away. The churches and clubs of the world can't hide who you are anymore I guess? wild.
