Stokely Williams' mother Shirley was my English teacher at Harding High in Saint Paul. This was right before they hit, and she raved about her son and how he was going to get a record out. These dudes are all from the Summit University area of Saint Paul and I used to see some of them in the neighborhood. They always represented Saint Paul and most stayed here!

His SON, Roger Jr was the Co Founder of Mint Condition, and their old HS Buddy. Roger Troutman Jr was the hidden "7th Member" of Mint Condition.

This Song was written by Mint Condition members Lawrence Waddell (keyboardist), Stokley Williams (lead vocals/drums) & Jeffrey Allen (saxopohone/keyboards). It was produced by Mint Condition and Jellybean Johnson. Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis only mentioned that they should add the "Pretty Brown Eyes" through the whole song. That's it. Mint literally got signed off strength of this song back in 1989 when they opened with it at their showcase at First Avenue where Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis came out and watched them perform.
