Bungie introduced many of the things games use today. Halo 1 set a precedent for LAN parties. Matchmaking? Halo 2 was the first. Before then, games had online multiplayer, but you had to join the server manually. Being able to hear the enemy team in the lobby and in post? Halo 2 was the first. Funny how that's a feature that's gone away lol

Just merely having a proper Health Bar makes Halo 2 Legendary SO much fairer. You get leeway if you're out of cover for more than 2 seconds. And can survive a jackal sniper hit !

I looked through all the files that leaked, one of the things I was most enamored with was the docs. Halo 2 was at one point going to have a Needle style (Blamite) sniper rifle, it would grow a crystal of the span of 3 seconds between firing rather than reloading. The more grown the crystal was, the more damage and range it had. And then the melee combo system they had planned meant you could stab someone with the barrel to stick them with the crystal, push them back and they'd supercombine. Would love to see all of this implemented into Halo 2 modding.

The zealot dialogue was already there btw but from drop pods not a phantom. I remember specifically because it wasn't until like my 50th playthrough I waited outside to hear the dialogue and not just go through those doors that I saw the reinforcements aririve and not just appear behind me later on. I love that opening section btw. There's like 20 different approaches for great replayability.

My favorite idea is a what if theory in Halo 3: ODST is if they actually landed and boarded the covenant super carrier thats been hanging over the mega city and the objective is to disable the super carrier and it crash lands on the outskirts mission and then take out the stragglers from the wreckage that make it off the ship. Just an idea im no modder but mods like these literally sparks the kid in me from back in the good ole days.

Pretty sure the "stealth" section in Hotel Zanzibar was always there, hiding from them until they pass. Same with the Zealot comment about a "stealthy approach" is also in vanilla Halo 2 as well.
