Ive inherited this coin, I believe its in great shape..Only a couple things are off to me..The first is there's no space between the I and N of IN. The second, the left hand of the drummer looks off, like a claw or something.. Either of those a common error?

I found A 1934 Quarter DDO fs-101 Recently. Condition was pretty rough. Maybe would grade up to 20. But still pretty cool. Been debating about selling it for a while.

Tonight I found a fully filled D. This would be the first error coin I have ever found. Great condition and all the other letters on both sides are very distinct. So it can't be from wear.

Mine has an error on the back & front. I've not found one with the same error anywhere. A friend that collects coins & who has some knowledge on the subject said, that It's definitely not from damage. I guess the next thing to do is have it graded?

Hey Weedsmith93, I just looked at the prices on www.pcgs.com for you. Without any errors, the 1976 S Silver, in Mint State is worth $6 to $15,000 depending on the grade.

I found a grease hole clash on the drummers elbow, the whole coin is grease clashed with a dark hue on the coin obverse and reverse.

You may want to post a picture in a friendly FB group for error coins and varieties to get some opinions. A grease error probably isn't going to add much value, if any, but they're fun to find and collect.

I have a few I weighed them all,one of them is falling at 5.9 grams while the others are much lighter…why is that?

Hi Brandon, There are many possibilities. The scale you use should go out to hundreths of a gram. If it doesn't, it will round the number and be less accurate. A clad quarter should be about 5.67 grams, silver 6.25 grams. A coins weight may vary slightly but it shouldn't be too far off. Some coins will weigh a little less due to wear. Sometimes coins are minted on the wrong planchet like a foreign planchet. Our mint does do work for other countrys and territories. There are also experimental planchets and I'm sure I missed other possibilities. There are some forums and groups on FB that you can post pictures to or look for explanations that may fit your coin. IMO - Quarter weight should be 5.67. Allowed tolerance, based on what I just found is .19g. That puts a normal weight up to 5.86g. So your quarter is a little over, but very close to normal weight. It's probably a normal quarter. If it was my quarter, I wouldn't make an extra trip, but next time you drive passed a coin shop, I would take it in and have them check it out. Just for peace of mind. I have a few coins that I have questions about, in a bag, awaiting a trip to a professional. I'm 99% sure they're post mint damage but I just want to be certain.

For the past 40-years I've told many people the Bicentennial coins aren't worth keeping. Two years' production combined with widespread hoarding. There's a reason for these exceptions, they're incredibly rare, especially in higher grades. Not something you're going to find in your pocket change. I wish I'd stocked up big time on Cents back when I first got started in collecting in the mid 1970s. I did manage to set aside about $20 worth of 1977-D Cents in that time period, only to have to sell them at face value only a few years later, after I got married. Ever since that experience, I have kept every single 1977-D Lincoln that's crossed my path, regardless of condition, LOL.

I have a Bi centennial quarter that Has no mint mark will say Philadelphia mint, except it doesn't way any were near the circulation strike copper(5.67 gram ) - clad coin it was slightly above the 40% silver S series coin( 5.75 grams), i have weight 10 coins in a row all bicentennial and get (5.54- 5.68) this one is the exact same size but comes in at 5.8, it would have to contain a heaver base metal. Any body seen or heard of this a 40% silver-clad with no mint mark
