I would like to add that during the 5th anniversary. For console, the entire game would lag for a solid 3 seconds whenever you used an exhaustion perk, someone got unhooked, a gen popped, someone cleansed a hex, someone healed, ETC. And deadhard would literally make you go backwards and not give any form of invincibility. And this all took, 6 months to fix.

I think for every map rework they increase the amount of times players go there to showcase the new map (I got Badham preschool a lot when that map's rework came out) but that's what map offerings allow so idk why they did that.

Right before (and right after) they rework a map/realm, they greatly increase the chances of being sent to that map/realm. It's so strong that it even overrides map offerings. I got old Haddonfield so many times in a row I just quit until it got disabled.

I remember a few other things, all from 2019 The falling through the floor at the killershack at the swamp maps and in front of the exit gates on Haddonfield the bugs were in the game before the first rift. The basement bug that came into the game with the Oni. If a survivor got hung up in the basement it was very likely that the affected survivor would have a bugged look permanently afterwards - like falling through the map. However, you still walked normally across the map for the other players and they could interact with you. The hill that sucked you in. But I think it was from 2020

1.3.1d was some of the most fun i've ever had in any game, i remember trying to do the glitch and failing because i wanted to blink around on claudette. I eventually settled and just equipped 4 copies of hope and fucked around and had so much fun. Even though 99% of games were busted, it was busted fun.

Exactly. In terms of bad update, 1.9.2 takes the cake as it's in my opinion the worst state the game has ever been, it was unfun and completely broken. But 1.3.1d was EXTREMELY fun!! Perk stacking, Chainsaw Myers or Hag, Wraith setting up traps, it was absolutely crazy and wild. I sometimes wish the game broke like that again, just to see the chaos that could happen with the new perks!

I remember there being a bug around early 2019 on survivor side where when you escaped through the exit gate, the game wouldnt count it as an escape and you'd just be left to walk outside the map. Normally the fix was walking off the edge to fall back into the map but on rare instances it wouldnt fix the bug so you were forced to either escape through the hatch if you were last or die to EGC/the killer if you and/or another survivor were unfortunate enough to experience this bug. Happened to me a few times when it was a thing and just accepted the death if I couldnt make it out on time.

I remember that happening to me as well. I think it was around the time the Stranger Things chapter dropped. One match I was Nancy and tried to leave through the exit gate and the game teleported me back into the map, so I figured that I would have to find hatch and fortunately I did before the killer

I think there was also this one bug with Legion where you could stack the mend timer with an addon so that it would take 5 min or more to mend. Meaning when you stopped mending you would go down instantly

Yes. It was the Filthy Blade and Nasty Blade addons. Each time a survivor mended it would add on to the time. And I’m pretty sure the old Sloppy Butcher affected it as well.

Remember when you exit the trial, but the killer just grab you and you were already escaped and the killer hooked you. So, you could be dead and escape at the same time while watching yourself on spectator mode.

i think it was 2020 when there was that bugged spot at the bottom of the hills that made you stuck forever. i remember being a killer main and getting stuck there, and survivors eventually finding me and letting me down them so i could free myself, or freeing survivors when they got stuck. i believe the pick up animation was the key to escaping it. kind of wholesome times.

Just to correct something. patch 1.9.2 didn't have the reworked version of Tinkerer that we have today, it just increased the charge time of powers which allowed for true insta saw Billy and machine gun Huntress. It was changed I believe with The Clowns mid-chapter patch.

Ever since the update where they changed his POV and his collisions, he's been atrocious for me to get into again since he slides on the most random shit like giant rocks and the killer shack!! It's been so long and he still can't collide with the outside of killer shack after that update!

A bit of time later I decided to play as blight again just to have fun. He was fun to play as which surprised me so I decided to main blight. Sure the collision on certain objects are so bad that you can just slide off of it, but the bullshit collision on shack actually has help me a couple of times to get hits on survivors.

You forgot an unfortunate side effect when blight was added. When you try to hook a survivor, it just doesn't let you. Dropping the survivor then picking them back up lets you hook them. In many cases, it made the game unplayable for killer. At the best, some time wasted dropping then picking up the survivor. At the worst, you just simply lose a hook and they wiggle off.

Funnily enough, the 4th anniversary update wasn't without a bug either. For the first two weeks of the 4th anniversary, the Ghastly Gateau was bugged to give 140% bloodpoints to yourself rather than 104% to everyone. Luckily it was a rather minor bug, and after they fixed it they extended the anniversary update by a further two weeks to make up for it.

What really pissed me off was when they released the halloween skin for The Legion and The Ghostface, you needed to pay real money in order to buy them. So I bought them with auric cells, after 3 days of complaining, they made it so that you could buy them with shards and even gave everyone who was participating on the event, the proper amount of shards. And I didnt get a refund ^^'

Damn, u got scammed 😂 Also I can’t be positive that it was around this time but there was a bug in the reworked springwood maps where there was one wall in the killer shack where you can walk through. I discovered this bug by accident when I was looping a legion and I was hugging the wall on the shack and by luck, I literally phased through it. I showed this bug to my teammate (only me and my teammate was alive at the time) and then showed the bug to the killer. Surprised by the bug, the killer decided to let us live. I remember repairing the generator with my teammate at the shack and the killer is just walking in and out of the fake wall. Good times :)

I don’t remember which update it was but I think it was a the resident evil update that made console dead hard the most unjaring thing, making it every time your survivor dead harded the game would turn into a slide show (it froze your game for like 2-3 seconds) and you’d had to pray the dead hard made the killer miss because it also didn’t give you distance. I experimented with the perk and If I remember the killer just sees the survivor standing still and gets full I-frames. Also the game kept crashing for console survivors and killers

It was ridiculous because eventually the mending took longer than your average game now does

This one seems to slip under the radar a lot but with the release of Ghostface and his accompanying anniversary event, some killers, I think I remember Legion and Ghostface himself being 2 of them, had their chase music broken. I’m not sure if it was a console only bug and that’s what made it fly under or not but their terror radius would be SUPER quiet even when up in your face. It was to the point where I think listening for Legion’s breathing was a louder audio cue than the terror radius. Ghostface didn’t matter so much considering his terror radius vanished with his power and I believe it was on a shorter cool-down then? Weird patch and made my anniversary pretty miserable.

That's the old Azarov map. They started reworking maps about a year and a half ago to make them prettier and "more balanced". Ignore the more balanced part. It just made them look visually better, but that's all.

Also the release of the Trickster completely broke hybrid steering (gamepad + mouse/keyboard). I have been playing with one that has a touchpad, I used joystick to move around and a touchpad emulating mouse movements. It hasn't been fixed yet, though I didn't check it on today's update.

Thank you for making these videos. As someone who started playing DBD when Dredge got released, it's really nice to see all the things that happened in the past of the game, and how BHVR grew as a developer. I'm kinda glad I waited to join the hype train, seeing how broken the game used to be, and how good we have it now despite the little problems that are still there. Keep making them!

Or chainsaw Myers. He wasn't even that easy to play. The maps were very dark and Hillbilly's chainsaw isn't even easy to use, even with the buff Billy got in January. But Michael with Bubba's chainsaw would have been busted. Or 4× Bamboozle would have been so fun, if it had been out yet. (But the Dwight with a chainsaw was too funny😂)

The 2017 Halloween bug was the reason why I stopped playing, interesting I thought it was the game Mechanics but not the mid animation pallet and flashlight save which is shown at 9:23 I did not know that it was a bug

I remember playing during 1.3.1. Thankfully, I didn't face anyone doing the exploit. I did try to do it myself, but I didn't have the patience to constantly spam and hope I'll do it fast enough for the menu to bug. I do remember however the guy I liked to watch on KZbin saying how broken the game is, and when he opened his killers he had blink ob hillbilly. He didn't play on camera with it, but he did say how everyone is using 4 bond on killer or 4 agitation or 4 unrelenting.

Twins are still insanely buggy and unplayable on console, almost every game i play with them i run into one of these issues, cannot return to charlotte from victor and if u actually manage to you now cannot use victor and can only basic attack aswell as not being able to break pallets, boons etc and cant pick up survivors so no hooking at all. There is also another bug that when you use victor or he gets killed by a pallet your character just breaks and now you are unable to move becoming frozen in place, this forces you to let survivors finish gens and leave or just DC. This is incredibly frustrating as someone who plays alot of twins and wants to keep paying them but because of this im forced to just give up on them. In every 8 of 10 games i play these unplayable issues occur. Will BHVR ever fix these problems.

I remember when I used to play on console I was a blight/trickster player and every time I used my power my screen froze for 2 secs. And sometimes my game would crash. Glad those days are over. Surprised I was rank 1 the whole time 😂

I don't know if you lumped this in with the 5th Anniversary event, but hit validation was released very much untested. On the killer end, you would so clearly get the hit that you would see the blood spray and begin wiping your weapon, but you would get stunned and lose it. Right when they introduced MMR and boons. I spent three days reporting them as hackers, who were also running rampant and taking advantage of MMR to harass high rank killers and derank them, before I found out that it wasn't a hack. It was a feature.

RPD is a testament to BHVR's lack of forethought that is often the underlining culprit to the game's issues. People complained about the layout + the size + the loops - so BHVR decided to make 2 _(very similar)_ variants, while expanding the map layout, and adding more pallets (loops). _Rather than go in a different direction and create a map in Racoon City - they just went with the cheaper, easier alternative, and failed to consider the impacts RPD 2.0 would have._

there was a point as well when Nemesis infected someone on console it froze the game for a moment and being on ps4 it got me killed as survivor because I would stand still and made it hard to play as him sometimes.

the funny thing about the terror radius bug is that on dbd mobile if you play against legion sometimes that bug will happen and you'll hear max terror radius when their not even close to you

@@LdSnake21 Yeah there is, I think it's called "Iridescent Button" where it makes your terror radius go across the whole map when in frenzy and you break pallets when you vault them as Legion. Either way the terror radius is still bugged because it goes from nothing to max with the the heartbeat and music being max volume which I don't think was intentional because it feels really buggy and I think I went against Legions without the irl addon that still had the terror radius across the map
