I got the pped from Depp almost immediately. But kept thinking of synonyms of drunk as in hammered. Eventually tried different ways to solve agreement in Mexico and came up with si. Delighted to solve it without any help. 2 under part 🎉

Got si straight away, but i was over analysing 'actor johnny' until i realised drunk had a definition not implied by the surface clue. Once I wrote out sipped it made sense

This is the first one I got by understanding the whole puzzle. "Sent back following" was so cool. The actor johnny and agreement came to me right away. But I had to reveal that drunk was the definition, I thought it was an anagram indicator at first. Loved this one!!!

My niece and I figured out that Drunk was the definition straight away. I got the clue within a minute. It took her a little longer because she didn’t get the “agreement in Mexico” wordplay. This was a fun clue, especially for me cos most days she beats me 😂

Also, the word “drunk” while clearly the definition for this clue, does play a 2nd part in priming us to think of Depp as the “Johnny” as it invokes his character, Captain Jack Sparrow.

I knew immediately that actor Johnny was referring to Depp, and sent back was an instruction. Then after was also an instruction. Which made me already want to go sipped, though I couldn't rule out lapped until I processed that "Si" was the Spanish "yes". That said "Drunk" could have been an anagram indicator.

Another great clue! I've started typing in bits and pieces in the boxes the way he does in the videos. It can sometimes be a big help, I typed 'DEPP' then changed it to 'PPED', then added 'SI' and that's when I realized SI needed to be first. I'm a visual kinda gal! Without typing it in, I'm not sure how long it would have taken me, because I wanted drunk to mean pissed or hammered or something of that nature, hahahaha!

Got “pped” pretty easily, learning to break apart words that seem like they should go together (drunk and actor in this case) needed a Clue to get “si”. Definition was pretty easy to find, “Mexico” or “in Mexico” doesn’t feel like it has a lot of synonyms.

Started going down a complete rabbit hole with agreement in Mexico being X - as in, you vote/agree with an X, and it could suggest you like something. However, when I did an about turn I saw si (si saw?) things started to fall into place. Great clue, and some nice misdirections too - referencing Johnny Depp had me certain that drunk was intoxicated (or a shorter version).

I feel like the hint button should be after the letter button, encouraging you to show a letter first. In a 'real world' crossword you often have letters but you can never find out the definition or any hint for that matter.

WAY too much going on in this clue! "Drunk" could have been an anagram indicator (because pretty much anything is) but then sent back means reversal, so why would you have both? I got Depp for "actor Johnny" and "OK" for agreement so I had Google Maps open looking for a place in Mexico that fit the letters "depp ok".

That’s what I thought. Something about using the part participle rather than the simple past form for the definition didn’t quite sit right with me. But ‘drank’ wouldn’t have read as an adjective describing the actor.

I kept trying to get "in Mexico" to mean "put something between MX" so I was like myesx... or maybe yes/no can be represented with o/x? So mox... moxpped?mopped?? Then I was thinking that "mix" is a logical combination of letters so I was trying to justify I as in aye-aye! Or "all in favor say I".... Got there eventually, but 1 over par. Ruining. This is an example of an easy, straight-forward clue. Once you're familiar enough with these you reach the answer almost as quickly as you reach the end of the clue. A good entry-level clue to new players of the game.
