Hey, Kaelan. Do I get it right?So, certification exam does not inlolve use the platform and do practical things on it. It's just for our understanding you would show to us. The test format is only to select the correct answers. Do I get it right? And another question, do your students have a portfolio built once they finish your course? Obviously portfolio is so important to show skills

Hi Biliana, Correct, the Marketing Cloud Email Specialist certification is multiple choice questions and you don't have to be inside the system while you're taking the exam. As for the portfolio, you will be learning the fundamentals of every Marketing Cloud project as you go through the course, so you will automatically be building experience as you learn the core features of Marketing Cloud. In the traditional sense of a portfolio (Doing client projects), you won't be doing that, but you will be learning how to run real-world Marketing Cloud projects in the course so that you can speak about Marketing Cloud to any company that you interview with.

Kind of off-topic, but if I've recently done the Salesforce admin exam (201) and passed it. How much of this is transferrable for the marketing admin exam? (From what I can see on the trailhead, it appears like there is a lot less content for it and it seems way easier, but the grade needed for passing it is a bit higher.)

Hey Michael, Marketing Cloud is a different UI than Sales Cloud but employers and hiring managers love it when people have both the Salesforce Admin and Marketing Cloud Email Specialist certs (Because both systems can talk to each other). Yeah there's not much material on Trailhead and you can't get an org unless you're working for a company that uses Marketing Cloud. The test is much more straight to the point for the Email Specialist certification though and the system is smaller than Sales Cloud so the learning curve isn't as long. The Marketing Cloud Career Development program will teach you all about Marketing Cloud and prep you with interview questions so you're ready to get the Email Specialist cert and get a job.
