I dont think the husband was an asshole as the movie portrayed him to be he may have been a bit insensitive but it was unhealthy for her to constantly obsess over having a child if he was infertile, also imagine leaving for a business trip or something to find your wife in prison over a habit you told her was excessive and the first thing she demands is that you bail her out

i dont think he was infertile but i could be wrong (i am basing off of this recap) but they did say that they did have a child that didnt make it. (miscarriage) it might potentially be that they both just were not as fertile as they would want but still fertile. I imagine that with near infinite money from the business they could afford whatever the best treatment and care was. im not knowledgeable on that either but i imagine with more resources it is easier to have a baby bc you can more easily stack the odds back in your favor.

The worst part, he didn't even know what she did. He could've gotten a good life but chose not to and stuck with someone like her, who spent all their money on hopeless treatments and then buying stuff unnecessarily, causing them to be in debt. He still stuck with her and only told her to stop and do something that helps them both. Then she gets a lot of money but doesn't even think about sharing with him but that's understandable since it was black money, but then she goes to have someone else's child without telling him about it, "HeR BodY HEr DEcisIoN" shit. After she gets caught, he refuses to bail her out because he was mad and her prison time is not very long, he also doesn't have money BECAUSE OF HER HABIT yet she decides to divorce him only because of that. and the movie portrays him as the bad guy. for real....

I remember this from the news and the lady's husband was the one that wanted the divorce. He said in the media he was tired of his wife's crap and that she was the reason they were broke in the first place. She didn't want to wait to have a baby the normal way and they went into debt by over 300k. She kept bulk buying stuff they either didn't need or they had enough to last them at least 2 years or longer. He didn't even know about the company she made with her friend or the millions she made. Shoplifting up to $1k worth of merchandise is legal in CA. People literally steal products from stores and sell the stolen goods on sidewalks. It has resulted in many "evil companies who had it coming" decide to close down the stores. The people who worked there no longer have jobs, and the customers that shopped there now have to travel further away to buy stuff they need. Tons of videos show stores getting mobbed by shoplifters working in groups. Similar idea, but the movie makes brand name companies villains, instead of stores. Here's the thing about brand name companies. They have a higher standard for quality control because they want to preserve their reputation as a superior product compared to other companies. I doubt many US consumers buy Hauwei phones made in China when they can buy a Samsung, Apple or better brand. Currently a shortage on baby formula in the US. Anybody who has a baby, knows sometimes it is hard to find a new brand that the baby will enjoy if the company decides to shut down over profit losses. Coupons are typically for grocery store items that people need at least once a week. Imagine if these companies decided to reduce the quality of their products in order to lower their prices. Ben n Jerry's, Breyer's and Haagen Daz would taste just like Acme. Coke and Pepsi would taste like the generic soda that sits on the shelves for months.
