Back then, social media wasn’t much of a big thing… But now, especially this pandemic a lot of people has so much access to socmed and have more time to “support / view” their stans any videos online. Even if their idols would just breathe or walk or spotted somewhere is a big thing for them already.lols! I find it very shallow but then again, it’s a millennial thing i guess. 2NE1 had it all back then: popularity even in overseas, awards with 6 daesangs, biggest fandom (blackjacks) and they were able to dominate music charts, w/ one hit song after another. Their discography is massive and covers all genre. Those things were more important. I feel so nostalgic and bittersweet right now, lols!

I love Bom's voice and 2NE1 songs wouldn't be as great without her voice, but I think this apply to Minzy as well. I love Bom's unique tone but when you listen back, especially to 2ne1's ballads like Lonely and Missing You, it was actually Minzy who sang most of the 'powerhouse' parts because of her stability and sustainability. Bom's tone added a uniqueness that really set 2ne1 apart but Minzy's vocals were really the foundation that a lot of the songs were laid upon and were often used to set up and lead up to Bom's big vocal moment. Chances are that your, and everyone's favourite and most memorable vocal parts in Lonely and Missing You were sung by Minzy because those songs really relied upon her vocals.

@@blazingbluera Bom had a fantastic and unique tone but she never had the best technique. YG should have protected her vocals with proper, consistent vocal training from the beginning that carried on throughout her career with them but they probably felt they would be sacrificing some of her vocal colour and uniqueness if they got a vocal coach to train her properly (which it wouldn't have. It would have only strengthened her voice while taling full advantage of her lovely tone.) That's why Minzy had to pick up more vocals, because Bom wasn't trained properly but was expected to carry the vocals in the beginning. This eventually wore her voice down and she really began to suffer and experience a lot of pain. I'm not complaining that we got to hear more of Minzy but it's a shame what YG allowed to happen to Bom's voice.
