She never treated her step kids OR myself and the other adopted/foster kids different than her own. If you think its okay to elevate your own kid at the expense of other innocent children in your home, thats an issue within itself tbh. If you adopt or are rasing a child that is not your own biologically, you treat that kid as your own. Period

The point IS that God had a special plan for Joseph...read His Word. It explains it well...this wasn't necessarily abt elevating one child over all the rest in a selfish aspect at all. We need to think Spiritually & NOT carnally...most ministers dnt teach this enough when it comes to learning God's Word. So ppl interpret The Word of God without His Holy Spirit to teach us what His Word really means. 🥰 God has a special plan for everyone! And its our choice to follow His ways or not. Come on guys . Has anyone read the Bible .. or even watched the whole movie ? The reason Joseph was the favorite was bc his father Jacob had an arranged marriage w/ Leah (who was older Rachel's sister) , though he truly didn't love her . That's where all of Joseph's brother came from . Rachel & Jacob secretly loved each other since they met as young adults . But Rachel was bearen so she couldn't have kids (which is those times meant you were less of a woman) . Though after prayers God finally granted their wish for a child . So Jacob knew he'd be special . Also , Joseph reminded Jacob of himself when he was youthful . Jacob had an older , stronger brother named Esau who was the protector & hunter . But Jacob was the intelligent , ingenious , charismatic one . That's why in the song Jacob says "I will teach him all he needs to know" . & Rachel sings "with power to beguile" . Just as Joseph's brothers were the strong providers , & Joseph was kept studying all day . And for those shaking Joseph for being the favorite , keep in mind the brothers were far from perfect . Joseph was his father's spy bc the brothers were always being sneaky & getting into mischief . Like when Judah thought he slept with a prostitute that turned out to be his daughter in law . To those who are joking about his misfortune & seemingly doomed future , it was all apart of God's plan . Joseph went through struggle after another , gradually/finely shaping & molding him to be who he was called to be . He eventually became the prime minister of Egypt (2nd in command to pharaoah) & saved Egypt from a fatal famine . Then moved his family from caanan to live with him in Egypt in luxury . So this is a great story , Joseph did have to learn to humble himself & not think as highly of himself as he did . He learned what he needed to & prospered from it . God gave him Favor

I know this comments kind of old but not all of Joseph’s brothers came from Leah. Since God knew Rachel was favoured and Leah wasn’t loved he ‘opened her womb’ and Rachel was barren. Leah had four sons at first Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah. So Rachel envied Leah and gave her handmaiden Bilhah to Jacob and she essentially had children for her, she had two sons Dan and Naphtali. Then Leah was barren for a while and so she took her handmaiden Zilpah to Jacob and she had two more sons for Leah, Gad and Asher. Then Leah eventually had 3 more children of her own Issachar, Zebulun and their only daughter Dinah. So yeah then when Rachel finally had Joseph and it was a miracle for them because it was the only son that was actually her own with Jacob besides Benjamin of course because he was born after Joseph:)

modern parenting does not apply. Jacob was not a bad dad his other kids were again sneaky. They did what they wanted. Because Rachel was able to have a child that should not have existed Jacob was happy. Technically, Joseph was special. The brothers just repeated the Cain and Abel story when they became jealous. Not to mention, parents usually have favorite. They may swear up and down the don't, however, this is untrue

Because of the way he was raised, Joseph grew to be self-righteous. In the Bible, he would tell on his brothers for every little thing they did to the point hat even Jacob was tired of it. The movie doesn’t show that though. Joseph’s self-righteousness was one of the reasons that God had him go through those trials therefore humbling him.

the bible does actually reference to Joseph being favored above the others if you read it. If you are not a Christian or dont believe the bible, why watch music videos like this? the movies prince of egypt and joseph king of dreams were made to explain the biblical stories of Moses and Joseph to kids. Yes people in the bible made a lot of mistakes...in fact all of them did. that was the point of the bible: to show humanity that it had fallen into sin and needed a savior and that Savior was provided when God sent His only Son Jesus to die in your place and mine. He wants us to be with Him in eternity and to have a life free of sin, sickness, and death and through the blood of His Son and the Holy Spirit living in His children, He makes that possible the more we seek Him.

Wii ondini Well yeah, but Joseph also let his father's words get to him in a conceited way. He was already exempt from hard labor and would point out to his brothers that he was only their half-brother like they weren't his "real" brothers per se. It's at the beginning when they let everything get into their heads but at the very end, they come to this realization that he really did do something great and Joseph apologizes for his ego in the past.
