We have a mango tree in our garden ...from the last six years it didn't gave a single fruit or a single flower ..we all family members almost declared that the tree might be dead ...I am doing istigfar 7000/10000/12000 daily....5times pray ..tahajjud since 3,, 4 months ..this year the mango tree gave flowers ...❤ ...allahhuakbar... I’m crying while writing. I heard about istaghfar a lot but never tried much may be in Ramadan sometimes. Today i came across a video about istaghfar earlier and i was feeling depressed my heart was so heavy and mind was so loud like i was going crazy. And then i prayed and start doing istaghfar with my tally counter i did different duas but mostly Istaghfurullah and wallah azim i immediately felt relief in my heart and mind, everything was calm and quit and tears were flowing down my eyes like water I’ve never felt this way before like I can’t even explain the happiness I’m experiencing now alhamdulillah. Anyone going through hard times please do istighfar and InshaAllah I’ll keep doing and ask Allah to make my life easier. May Allah bless all of us brothers and sisters.

When we say Astagfirullah, we must recollect any mistakes or sins committed by us and sincerely repent for it. That is how istagfar should be recited. If we do that regularly, and not repeat the sins again, surely Allah will respond to every dua of ours.

No. That is not what I meant. But please remember, the above person who said istagfar regularly, understood the meaning of what he was saying. Then, naturally, his reciting was with sincerity and with the resolution of not repeating the sin again. What is the use of repeating words, which you do not understand, and committing the same sin again and again? Allah says in the Quran that HE will not forgive a person who seeks forgiveness and repeats the sin again and again.

I was in fitnah for 11 years.. i made so many mistakes. Now Allah has put me in severe test but wallah I am trying to stay steadfast on achieving Allah’s mercy and forgiveness. Allah has always given me way More than I expected, I didn’t deserve them. But I must pass this test and remain strong. I was making isteghfar remembering how people should keep their mouth moist with isteghfar. I stopped and entered youtube to motivate myself a little more and this video comes up. I acknowledge your favor upon me and I acknowledge my sins, so forgive me, for verily none can forgive sin except you.” There are some conditions for repentance which we need to follow 1. Admit our mistake / sin to Allah SWT 2. Regret the sin we committed 3. Seek Allah's forgiveness and repent sincerely back to him (saying this Dua'a) 4. Rabil war ham wa anta khairur rahimin "اے میرے رب، بخش دے اور رحم کر، اور تو سب سے بہتر رحم کرنے والا ہے۔" “My Lord! Glory be to You! Reference Sunan an-Nasa'i 4877 7- Sayyid al-Istighfar اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَىَّ وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي، فَاغْفِرْ لِي، فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ ‏ ‘Allahumma anta Rabbi la ilaha illa anta, Khalaqtani wa ana `Abduka, wa ana `ala `ahdika wa wa`dika mastata`tu, A`udhu bika min Sharri ma sana`tu, abu’u Laka bini`matika `alaiya, wa abu’u laka bidhanbi faghfir lee fa innahu la yaghfiru adhdhunuba illa anta. اے اللہ، تو میرا رب ہے، تیرے سوا کوئی عبادت کے لائق نہیں، تو نے مجھے پیدا کیا اور میں تیرا بندہ ہوں، اور میں تیرے عہد اور وعدے کی پاسداری کرتا ہوں جہاں تک میری استطاعت ہے، میں تیری پناہ میں آتا ہوں۔ میں نے جس برائی کا ارتکاب کیا اس سے میں اپنے اوپر تیرے احسان کا اقرار کرتا ہوں اور اپنے گناہوں کا اقرار کرتا ہوں، پس مجھے بخش دے کیونکہ تیرے سوا کوئی گناہوں کو معاف نہیں کرسکتا۔ O Allah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be worshipped except You, You created me and I am Your servant, and I abide by Your covenant and promise [to honor it] as best I can, I take refuge in You from the evil of which I committed, I acknowledge Your favor upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for verily none can forgive sins except You. In the Islamic perspective, sins are considered as something where we wrong ourselves first Sinning can be having shortcomings in giving God His rights, or giving rights to the people So if you err in the rights of God, like lack in properly worshipping Him, then you just ask forgiveness from Him and He is the most merciful, if you err a 1000 times, he can forgive you But when it comes to the rights of ppl, as in, if you speak arrogantly to people, or use dirty language or steal or in somehow or the other dont give poeople their due rights, you are to seek forgiveness from God firstly and then You are also tasked to seek forgiveness from the person you oppressed and hope that he forgives you his rights. So you have two obligations then! Moreover we dont think merely chanting in itself is a complete way of asking for forgiveness rather the intention and sincerety in not returning to that sin should be along with it too while asking for forgiveness

istighfar is wonderful. But you can't always do 30 000 per day. it's why the prophet recommend 💯. ALLAH appreciate the mu'mine who do it just before SOUBH. the best number is 70 between FAJR and the obligatory prayer SOUBH. it's a small number but very productive.
