Something about this song is so off putting, so sinister, yet so comforting and nostalgic. It feels like something private, something I wasn't meant to be hearing but did anyways and now must pay the price of knowing.

There is mention of sirens in the song; they have a tendency to be off putting but strangely comforting (If i remember correctly) so your awnser may be there

The song is about a lone fisherman talking about sirens. he describes them at the start of the song, only to later see them. the sirens start singing and he is pulled closer to them. the music proceeds to pick up, this shows how the man feels about the singing. he even knows he is being sent to his death, but cannot help but enjoy it; this is evident with the line "It feels like flying, but maybe, we're dying". The crescendo right at the end of the song, only to end suddenly represents the man dying. Its pretty sinister

The full album sounds like a man who meets a woman and falls in love, either he kills her and she dies tragically somehow, or she dies and he kills the murderer, then he's given electrical shock therapy since he's declared insane, the shock therapy turn him insane and during this song he commits ocean suicide, joining his love in eternity

i can only imagine just a lonely astronaut. The spaceship is so close to breaking. The astronaut made it to the edge of the universe, alone. He puts on his suit, and jumps out. Sweet Dreams in Sea Major play in the space ship as it explodes and the astronaut gets blown out of the universe. Blank White is all he sees. Someone approaches him, its a woman. She was beautiful, her name was Queen. She had wings, and very nice to. Queen told the astronaut to take if his helmet. “Where am i?”the astronaut asked. “You are no where, yet everywhere.” Queen replied. “Am i dead?” The astronaut asked. “no, but you can rest now.” Queen says while smiling, the astronaut drifts off into the blank white abyss. “Goodbye My Love, Forever Together. Me and You Elizabeth.” Astronaut says as his last words. Infinitely drifting away, no pain and no thoughts.

This song proves that the man Joe Hawley, and his fantastical band, are simply not if this realm. Sure, they were born here, but it’s like they belong somewhere else in the universe, like cosmic children at the edge of the universe, reborn on this planet to bring joy to all who listen. This is what tally hall truly is. Or that’s how I see it, at least.

I've never before heard a song that can be both comforting and terrifying simultaneously until now, it's like you're staring death in the face and dreading the end yet at the same time it has a feeling of acceptance and comfort. Really well-done !

I imagine this starting post-apocalypse of the world and a group of people or maybe just one person sitting at the edge of a waste land, listening to this song as they know it is the end of their existence. The end of life as they know it, crashing down in the form of a mushroom cloud on the edge of the hazy horizon. (Idk i was feeling oddly poetic at this moment)

POV: you hear this song in the living room so you follow it, your father comes home, he hugs you and tells you to keep your head up. It almost would’ve felt real if you didn’t realize it was a dream, as your father had been dead for almost a year now.. although you still hear the music

The power. I only have one song memorized because it's ingrained into my childhood memories. "Give me a second I need to get my story straight, my friends are in the bathroom getting higher than the interstate" y'know? I only say this because I went to the song and saw the comments and so many people grew up with the song just like me. Could never remember the name tho. Sorry for the rambling lol

I'm going to explain how this makes me feel, In the beginning I feel empty and sad and a sort of comfort, when it comes to "a siren sounds" it makes me feel a little hopeful maybe fuzzy or a brief happiness, when the Christmassy music starts I get a joyful yet upbeat vibe, when the French part comes on, I feel someone's trying to explain to me what they feel but I just cant understand them and I hate it, and the rest of the song I just feel, a bit happy and sad and all kinds of emotions, I feel the hardest part of song to explain is the beginning because it's so hard to tell yall what it feels like..

I'm so happy I found it again. Like, I know this song is about a sailor about to get killed by mermaids but HEAR ME OUT. First few lines, you know, the ones with gentle music. Imagine, if Charles never died and just got teleported on another planet, and now he tries to fix the ship he was on to fly back on Earth, just to see his friends and he sits on this planet singing those lines. Like. it's C O O L.

I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've looped this one track. It's actually insane. This was all an accident and it gives the vibes like it's definitely not a happy one. There's a feeling it gives off that makes you delight in literal heartache, like you're stuck in some kind of dark eternity you can't see. In other words it's fucking hypnotic and I still love it and the album to death.
