This is such a beautiful duet. Maddie was so little here. I think this is why Maddie was always Abby's favorite. She was a great dancer from the very beginning. And it's not just her technique, it's also her emotions. It makes the whole dance a lot more enjoyable.

This one was from the color movie where Patty Duke played Anne Sullivan, as opposed to the early black and white version where she made her film debut as Helen. Both are admirable in my opinion. The Miracle Worker was done many times by different theaters and film companies. Any version you see will have a great deal of emotion.

Yeah, in her Over the Rainbow solo she could get her heels to touch her head doing the chin stand, but as she got older she could barely get her toes to touch, if at all.

This dance is older than disappear. DM was originally only supposed to be six episodes, so Abby reused old solos/groups for those episodes. That's why, if you search hard enough, most likely you will find dances the girls did when they were young that are the same choreo, but different music to the dances in the first six episodes of DM.

Before dance moms Abby was just the studio owner and there were other teachers that come in and do classes and choreograph dances before competitions. Then dance moms and it was mainly Abby and just Gia who choreographed the dances.

It's about Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan. Anne taught Helen how to communicate by teaching her sign language.. the dance is basically showing young Helen and Anne when Helen was first learning.. i think the dance may be based of the book/movie 'the miracle worker' too

I feel bad for the older girl, this is a super lame dance for teen division. The choreography isn't good and the music sucks. But at least there's more documentation that Abby recycles costumes, concepts, and choreography.... they didn't do a bad job it's just boring.

Can you explain why you'd respond to my comment with that? I'm aware of the Helen Keller and Ann Sullivan story. It's great that they did well with it. It's Pittsburgh competition so that's not terribly surprising but I didn't say anything about their scoring or anything either, good for them. I was just saying I didn't like it and found it boring to watch, and wanted to note that this choreography and concept was used by Abby on other occasions. So I'm not sure why you're trying to respond in a cruel way or act like I'm stupid haha.

The back story isn't what makes this lame haha, it's the choreography that I didn't like. What's your deal? Yeah I'm fine with people disagreeing with my opinion haha I'm a big girl, I can handle it. If they won with this multiple times good for them. I still didn't like it and everything I didn't like about it is an insult to the studio, not the dancers. I'm not going to stop expressing my opinion but when someone tries to respond to it in a way that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, I'll usually respond back. I'd rather have like, a normal grown up conversation about it than even respond to someone that's attacking me about my opinions though haha...
